Default Almost killed someone!!!

Was driving through Macclesfield and a bloke went running across the road from the opposit side, got hit hard by a Peugeot estate which threw him up in the air, destroying the blokes bonnet and windscreen on the way.

I slammed the brakes as he came down hard in front of my runaround Puma. He skimmed my bonnet and both his legs pretty much got eaten by the lower grill of the bumper. Guy's leg was shattered, sick moment!!! Guy was a typical scally piss head, unbelievable behaviour trying to blame the guy that hit him.

Nothing prepares you for when something like that happens in front of you. 1 mph more and I'm certain I would have killed him........

Shocking!

I'll never slate the standard Puma brakes again

Without a doubt. My car raised a bit, I swear I thought it was his body I was sitting on. Puma isn't huge and I couldn't see him in front. But I was sitting on his bag he was carrying.

Shat me up well a trully. If I was in the Focus he'd have been gone!

Could have been worse, I tried not to move him after he was hit. But I can see how much damage there was to the grill and his forhead, which it seems he managed to headbutt along with his legs entering the bumper. F*ck of a mess.

Upside is, the bumper is intact apart from the grill which is removable anyway and the fact nobody died!!!

Hope the guy will walk again....

Just make sure you talk it out with someone if you need to. Events like this effect different people in different ways..

When I was younger my old man witnessed a woman on her bike go under the wheels of a lorry (lorry fault on this occasion) and it was a week or two before he was back to being my dad again.

Oh no I'm o.k, the guy's alive and I've had to deal with severe knife wounds and countless gory things through my job, so I'm well used to seeing horrible things. But this was really weird, just glad the guy's was o.k. He was a total tit without a doubt, but glad all the same.

oh and get a "kill" sticker for the wing, ie a standard "toilet sign" stick man with a diagnal red line through it

Yeah I know you, you're the snob that doesn't wave when random runaround Puma drivers flash their lights at you Bet that cobbled street is a pain with your suspension, it is with my Focus anyway

It was on Hurdsfield road, just past the Tesco there's a rough pub on the left there. Right outside that at about 17:30.

P.S. I'm not stalking you, its just that my wife's a doctor and her doc mates live around the corner to you in the doc halls. Your RS is very tidy, blows a bit of blue on overun though

@ Warren

Would be one less dole-jokey we'd have to pay for wouldn't it

Nasty business that! Would have shit me up a bit I reckon!

I'd hate that. Think it's a bit out of order how it usually seems to end up being the driver's fault too. He might think twice in future at least!

i run some drunk wino over years ago when i first owned my saff.

driving down the road, and i could see this pisshead walk out of the off licence carrying bag full of beer. I was several hundred yards away fromt he traffic lights and they were green for me so i proceeded at the same pace.

As soon as i got real close to the lights and him, he decided to step right out in front of my car without even looking. I slammed the brakes on, locked up and shifted all the weight to the front. Ended up hitting the cunt who landed on my bonnet and slid up it until his face was pressed up against my windscreen. I remember him looking at me whilst i had a look of shock horror on my face. He was properly holding onto the bonnet too

Car eventually stopped skidding and the weight shifted back at which point he flew off my bonnet and landed on the road. Cunt still had his bag of beer

As he got up he was a bit dazed and i was in shock, looked over to the pavement and several people had stopped to watch so i pulled over and gout to help the cunt.

He was a polish immigrant, more than likely illegal as he would not go to the hospital with me and flat refused saying he was ok but i could see was in pain. A few other polish bystanders were saying i was speeding but eventually fucked off when they realised i was trying to help him and not do a runner

He couldnt speak a word of english, except he kept muttering "hat" under his breath as he walked around the car and i realised he had lost his cap during this, so i gave him a new spare WRC cap I had in the car and he was alot happier but still wouldnt go hospital with me, so i decided to give him some money to help along as i felt really bad (the guy was in his late 50s or early 60s) - only had a tenner in my pocket which he got and he then started to speak in Punjabi to me saying thank you

Fooking couldnt believe it.

Funny the things you do when you're in shock, like giving people your money and spare hats

@ the fact he still held onto his beer through the whole incident.

I know - i fooking needed a beer after that incident too

I had loads of those caps as I initially built their website through work and these were the freebies we got, as well as tickets to the rally in wales

Yours sounds a lot worse mate and i hope he makes a full recovery as its never nice to have on your conscience.

He then trip over fresh air stumbled across one lane which was empty then dived into my lane. He stopped an inch from my front tyre but his head was under my bumper and i shat myself! Lucky i wasn't going quick and i had 17s on as if i had my 18inch wheels he would of been dead. Wanted to kick the shit out of my him so called the old bill and they took him away. It proper shook me up though

lol @ the snob thing, sorry dude, i kinda see when its too late..... will make sure i wave when i see you next.... what colour is the puma?

yeah, the rings need doing, its now in bits where i work on it, the rad sprung a leak and caused some major steam last night, on its way back to airtec now, got a bottom end being inspected as we speak, that i managed to get hold of a while back, when i stripped it, it appears to have had new rings, shells and bearings, and not been run since, so just having it inspected for peace of mind, then will get it built back up....

the cobbles aren't so bad, not ideal, but not so bad....

no worries fella, honk next time your passing!

glad your ok fella

Cheers mate, but I'm sure I'll continue to have nightmares about it

Your build sounds pretty good, keep us posted or put a thread up on here. She's a very clean shell

PM me details of which house is yours and I'll give you knock when I'm about with the Focus. Not many people with decent cars, only bikes around here that don't like doing the Sunday drive up to the Cat n' Fiddle. Strange really, but would be a good outing I live in Bolli...

As for the Puma, its that purple-ish colour, not including the many rust spots on the arches

Fucking hell!! That must of been horrible to see! Glad to hear everyone is ok, reckon you should get the bloke done for the damages done to your car (plus stress, nearly caused you a nervous brakedown, you probably got a bit whiplash when you slammed on the brakes, you've been loosing sleep sinse it happened, you've had to take time off work due to stress, and now your constantly arguing with your partner). You could be minted now that I've pointed these out to you.

Know how you fell dude,

About 3 years ago I was driving my old mans jag in the high street and turning right on a roundabout when some low-life who was thieving something from a local store run out of the shop and onto the roundabout just as I was turning. Nothing I could do so he hit my bonnet and bumper and then starting going under, luckily the car had a long bonnet.

I stopped the car in shock when the guy got up said "cheers mate" and run off!!!!! I however was a bag of nerves and with everyone in the high street watching felt like I was doing a hit and run!!!!!

ive just realised i have another one - was years ago when i was at uni and driving my Nova () to the Student union building. going down the high street and there are a several buses pulled over at the side to let a load of passengers off. As I approached some woman decided to walk across the road literally right in front of my bonnet.

She stepped out
i didnt have time to brake
Her head bounced off my A-pillar
she was a little dazed
then fookin walked off on the other side of the road

I had to pull over, wind the window down and hurl and load of abuse at the bitch as she looked at me all confused

Ah mate, I got all that stuff already, I'm married

I'm actually alright now, had enough epic car related shunts in rallies over the years, but this is completely different I know. But I think its because the guy was a complete low life tit and ALIVE that I'm not too fussed now
