hi has anyone got any ideas what could be wrong with my car as it keeps getting real hot....ie the water tank keeps filling up i thought it was the head gasket but there is no smoke coming from the car there is no water in the oil i have took the stat out and the water is circulating ok i went out in it last night and it was going really well..lol well to be honest it was fast as fuck then it blew the water tank cap off any ideas before i take the head off.... and are the felpo gaskets any good?????

At a guess I would say the headgasket is letting go which is pressurising the cooling system.

Felpro are shite!!! the best CVH gasket is the standard Ford or Payern, ZVH may be slightly different but I'm sure one of the boys can and will advise soon for you

Don't run without the stat for a long period of time, it's there to CONTROL cylinder head temperatures (cht's) which is important for many reasons

You can't use a Ford/Payen gasket if it's a '2.1' as the bores are too big. You can on the 1.8 though. I'd have the head welded up and use a Focus RS gasket like I do. They come in 3 thicknesses aswell depending on how much your heads been skimmed.
