Default Sapphire boost problem

I have a boost problem on my 4x4 sapph.
The fault happens once car hits peak boost (12psi).
I jus lose all power for afew seconds as if engine as been switched off, then it will recover and boost to peak boost before repeatin. It doesnt seem to happen in 1st gear but after that in 2nd, 3rd, 4th its constant. Car drives lovely off boost but as soon as i boot it an boost comes in i get the problem.
Iv changed several parts including:
Grp a coil pack
Standard but new ht leads
New distributor, and rotar arm
Ford genuine plugs gapped at .6 (071s)
New phase sensor

Please can anyone help?
Im desperate to get this sorted.

Thanks
Craig.

sounds like overboost

have you tried turning the boost DOWN?

are you sure it's chipped?

if it's standard/not chipped it's running too much boost and needs turning down, but if it's stg1 etc then it'll run more boost so that aint the problem........u could try spraying/cleaning the mulit-plugs that run along the back of the engine/bulk head....the 3rd one nearest the battery is notorious for giving missfire on boost

12psi is 4 psi too high for a standard ECU.

Thanks for the replies.

Whats the best thing to do then? Turn the boost down to what it should be?
I dnt want to cause any damage to the engine running to much boost.

If so how do i do that?

I would still like to know what is causing the car to overboost before i fitted a chip.

Although it is a good excuse to get one.

Fidn out what caused it to go from 8psi to 12psi mate. no point just turning it down without rectifying the fault.

Hi, assuming it used to run 8, then sudenly changed to 12, look for any air leak between the turbo and amal valve or amal valve and wastegate actuator first of all, as that is most common and likely.
