Jeepers, surely people can see that it is encouraging people to either ...
A) take a bogo mk 3 escort and slap an S1 ID in it, bingo additional few grands worth of car for a mornings work.
B) steal someones pride and joy, slap in purchased S1 ID and bingo, free car.
I am sure 100% of people would be fuming if they bought an S1 and found out it was a 1.1l with a S1 id welded in it, or worse if they found out their Ł8k S1 minter was a ringer and promtly taken off them.

the mk2 ones we sell are mainly to fooked to be repaired and you take the old id off car thats having new id to the inspection job done not classed as ringing that way
DVLA have a points system to reshell a car with a new shell using your original rotted/written off car and keeping your number plate.
Points mean prizes, to keep the number plate.
But to cut out the chassis number and drill out the vin tag to put on another car that already is registered is a big no no

ringing is ringing and flogging a id from another car thats been scrapped or smashed and attatching it to another is well naughty but theres some right fuckers on here who know better and don't care about being a dodge pot
yo man i could buy a new shell tommorow and reshell it into a damaged or rusty auto and would i fuck contact the dvla to see what they think, that points system is for pernickety fuckers who like aggro going down the right channels.

funny you say that man i remember a mk2 rs2000 a guy who rallys bought in toxteth liverpool and he bought it with no id and then put a 1600 sport id on it. the car was advertised in the noth west automart under $500 ads section and we sorry he went to collect it and there was no car and then 4 scousers walked around the corner from god knows where with this pannled bodyshell and dropped it on the floor by the trailer.
all was well until one day someone who knew the owner of the car saw it and got the bizzys. Thats what can happen if you buy stolen rs parts or shells without knowing

How many mk1 and mk2 escorts,or lotus cortina,s have correct shell for tags, not many, but i dont see any body complaining,no i dont agree with ringing, but in some cases a genuine id can come in handy, say you had a stolen recovered car,on a q plate, job done ,to many ppl on here want to play the white man,

WHAAAATTT??? Are you off your meds??
(mk3stargazer shakes head and walks away)
What's the reg?
Yes, only onto a new shell - try and find a brand new mk3 / S1 shell now though.
Maybe in the olden days you would have managed it, or with a more modern car - Focus for example but you'll struggle with mk3 (and probably mk1 or 2).
Selling an ID (VIN plate) for collector purposes if fine..but why would they want a bit of floor with the numbers in? In reality how many actually go to real collectors as opposed to someone who wants to create a "genuine" car out of something that isn't. Increasing the value of the car and the buyer potentially losing Ł000's later down the line.
Just because there are probably plenty of other examples or rung cars on wrong shells doesn't make it right or justify someone else doing it.

Don't know about any of the rest of you but I've reported it to ebay. Hopefully be taken down soon.
And for anyone that thinks it's OK to ring cars by selling the ID once its donor has been cut up, burned, squashed or whatever, go have a chat with those guys down the road in their caravans, they're more on your level than the rest of us.

ive got an s1, had all the floors welded in, still has chassis number in it, and thats dodgy, a complete floor with numbers,
zvh engine, so no engine number, had different reg number in the glass, but came with history for the number plate the cars on
only just found it as ive stripped it,
so what should i do with it then?

How does the VIN plate look on the front panel?
Show signs of being drilled and refitted?
car was restored sometime ago, but its definatley had the floors re welded in, inc the whole floor with the number in,
at the time the car was restored, there was another that was being broke for parts

My fiesta zetec s has no vin plate. No floors numbers. Only has visible vin on dash. My mate had it years was pulled over in it when he was younger and nothing has ever come back on it. It is light blue (base model blue) yet fords computer show it leaving ford as imperial blue. He had it from when it was 2/3 years old.... Owell its white now getting zetec turbo so.even the engine numbers wont match lol.
No bought it as a stripped mk3 shell only. All floors had been replaced (not patched, although the sills were patched with O2 top up cards and filler
). Its was a bit of a shitter which was going to be for the track only but after the work i've done I'm now tempted to put it on the road, which at the minute is not an option the way it is.
