I run Hi spec monster 6 pot calipers with Performance Friction disks front and rear on my Porsche and never had any problems.

Ive used the Wilwood 4 pots on my car and found them to be spot on

Here is a link to my brake fitting guide http://www.sportingfords.com/forums/....php?f=16&t=24 just to give you an idea of the type I've got.

i had a compbrake 4 pot 330mm set up on my saff before i got aps and they would fade out after some real abuse! also after being left for a while as the car is not always used the pistons in the callipers would stick and need striping and cleaning up which became annoying

I use the Compbrake 4 pot kit 335mm disks previously now on 320mm disks .Totally faultless.
The kit i have uses a 'Brembo' caliper, 32mm width disks. Never had an issue on track at all.
Recommend to anyone.
Cannot beat it for value for money.

I used HiSpec calipers on a race car and they worked OK but evenually warped and leaked. Cheap crap for racing - but maybe OK for road use.

Meh. I'm in the same boat!

Didn't stop me sinking Ł2000 into a set of 362mm AP 6 pots

What brakes do you have currently?

What kind of power is the car?

currently no calipers at all! its a focus with st170 hubs and approx 350bhp frs engine thats in it.

looking to put 17`s on it and keep the standard st170 wheel size and offset, without using wheel spacers.

for a simple effect braking set up to give you some perspective, find some mk2 focus st calipers and discs, redrill the discs and you should be able to simply bolt them up to your hubs

you get 320mm discs which are good enough to stop a heavy mk3 mondeo in a car that will probably be 2/3rds the weight so should give you a good starting point
