Default Gt2554R- swappable for GT2560?

As above, I have a GT2554R I believe. Can I swap for a GT2560 (focus RS turbo) or other T25 without needing to change mapping?

Hiya mate quite simply yes you could fit the turbo but it would need to be mapped to get the best out of it,and on a stock t190 bottom end it would be to powerful as stock 200-210bhp max before the pistons let go thats why mountune only tuned them to 190bhp so there was a safety factor.

It was rebuilt a little bit ago- unaware of turbo issues at the time, just pistons but it had 360bearings and was race spec balanced.
I have so much I don't know about the car mate I don't know where to start but it would swamp you lol
But mostly it's just about the car sensors and management systems- like I have a decat but no EML on. Was the Pectel set up so it wouldn't? If I went to a garage for a diagnostics would they show up as normal? Is the maf a blow through mounted on the boost pipe? Is 22-25mpg about right for fairly local running about? Best I've seen was 26mpg.

Pectal is all set up to run without the cat on the car but it may fail it's mot due to emissions, you wouldn't get any diagnostics at a garage unless they can read pectal the only things garages can read is the ford engine management which just runs stuff like your lights, aircon etc and yes your maf sensor is a blow through on your intercooler pipe work, the best people I came across on these cars in my ownership is a guy called Roger Allan at mountune,Ian howell at area six and Harvey Gibbs at supreme car services is the guy who done my mapping and is still looking after the car as I sold it to a chap who lives very close to Harvey Gibbs in Peterborough,ok mate hope this helps you!

Yeah I've been picking the brains of Ian Howell and Roger already but there was only really so much they could say having not owned a T-series. The guy who owns your old T-350 has also been in touch on another of my posts and it'll be coming up for sale soon he says after it's had an oil leak fixed. I've asked him to take a hi- res pic of the T-190 vinyls as mine were removed and I'd like to get them back on for show season.

No idea mate.

This is the thread https://passionford.com/forum/ford-f...at-i-have.html

I was considering a set up with a reliable 270ish bhp but decided for now to keep her original with slight styling- carbon on front splitter, mirrors and the flat part of rear spoiler and few touches inside with boost gauge in change pocket beside temp gauge. Be at Scottish fast and modified in July with her too. Was a nightmare when I first got it but was basic things- had 1.8 plugs in not turbo ones so fitted ITV22s and now FRS plugs with standard coil and leads.
Justin can you remember if your fuel economy was low? I get 22-26mpg and was gonna get a diagnostic done but as it's the Pectel, I can't locally. Just wondering if I should be looking at certain sensors like MAF, ACT or anything?

Hi mate haven't had time to work the exact mpg out but when fuel was around 1.18p a litre Ł10 would do around 55 miles and that was when it was running 350 ish bhp if that helps you!

Super unleaded obviously. Last owner ran mine on 95 but I always run her on minimum 97ron. Does about 120miles to Ł30 going no further than 15mile radius.

What did you think of the car while you owned it- good points/ bad points and would you buy one again?

Loved it mate just wish I could have kept mine and took it over 500bhp but my son came along and my wife wouldn't use the focus at all so I had to sell it and I bought a BMW alpina d3 for us to use as a family car now hence why I couldn't keep the focus as I have an mv agusta motorbike a shity peugoet 206 car I use for work and now the BMW as a family car,so there was no room left in the garage for it to have been kept, worst part of owning was any problems travelling to someone who could read pectal and that's about it really as I like having things that are rare hence my other choices of car and bikes

Yeah I love different cars too mate. I had a golf 25th Anni diesel before this and first car was a canary yellow 205 rally sport on twin-40s and racing cam. One of 1000 worldwide apparently. I was considering selling but everytime I drive it I can't help but love it. Be even better when turbo is sorted out. Just need it booked in and sorted out.
I'm thinking of setting a focus t-190/t-230 group up on Facebook as a knowledge centre/ register as when I bought mine I was no doubt annoying everyone on here and the RSOC with questions and little issues.
