Hi everyone I'm from Cape Town South Africa. Drive a Ford Sapphire 3.0 v6 Essex we didn't have the honour of the Cosworth in SA. I wanted to know what lowering kits you guys use because we don't have much aftermarket parts available for Sapphires in South africa. What does it cost?

Assuming it's the same suspension set up as our sapphires ?, most if just wanting lower opt for some lowering springs from avo/chassis dynamics, or ahmed etc, cost wise around £80- £140, some fit coilovers, cost from around £450 up.
I seem to remember though some s/a sierras had a live axle ?

Thanx for the info Thabetha I have to do some research to make sure my car uses the same set up as the UK 2wd Saph I'm sure it must work then I will definitely import me a kit. I know body parts are almost identical the cossie front bumper is just much better looking. Oh and I will also be searching for the bonnet vents as the v6 tends to get hot and they need to vent their anger so to speak

I have a 1992 model and the sapphire was built in SA between 1989-1993 so I basically have the new spec but mine was the 3.0 v6 with 38 weber carb the 93 model was fuel injected(3.0 GHIA). For my engine I'm planning to fit the Rowland twin Weber intake system with a 310deg cam do the heads(bigger valves, port n flow exhaust intakes) then fit new 5speed box so still a long way to go coz in SA everything cost a shit load but we are big into modified rides

i had a 2.9 saph and i used the spring and shock setup off the xr4i koni shock and spax springs worked a treat i found that normal uprated saph suspension was to soft and kept catching the arch'es as its a heavy engine

South Africa never had any 3 door Sierras. We only had 5 doors and then the Sapphire replaced it. The XR8 was and still is a massive icon here is one specific one in Cape town that run the new M3 and E65 merc on top end it destroys them its a real monster. I'm also still considering the otions I have regarding engines for my ride. I also wanna buy some RS bonnet vents from UK aswell. So I have a list of things to do was considering the fitment of the ST 5 cylinder turbo focus engine but not many engines available waiting for Ford SA to reply to my mail
