Default 2010 Ka Steering Wheel Custom Retro Fit

I was looking online and on ebay.

Would it be possible to retro fit a ford KA 2010-2013 Zetec steering wheel to lets say Ford Sierra Sapphire using the right boss kit?

Would think of cutting the neck off the KA's steering wheel then bolt it to the boss hub and then slot the boss hub into the steering wheel shaft?

However I'm not sure how the horn works on KA's steering system, plus I don't know the specs of the Ka's vs the Sierra / sapphire

Ford KA
Full Diameter of wheel?
Depth from wheel surface to back of wheel(where the neck or hub would bolt on?
Internals of steering wheel? (how horn works etc)

Ford Sierra / Sapphire
Full Diameter of wheel?
Depth from wheel surface to back of wheel(where the neck or hub would bolt on?

Can anyone shed some light or info

factory steering wheels don't have boss kits they are userly one piece.

and the new ka steering wheel proberly wouldn't fit straight on, with it being a fiat the splines are most likley different

I don't think its a good idea mate if I'm honest. Might look too modern for the chassis, like a 90 year old granny with a fresh boob job.

I was saying if you use a boss kit. It will be one for Ford RS steering wheels. Cut the neck off where the spline goes through on the KA wheel then bolt the Ka wheel to the RS Hub and complete it with rest of the horn mechanism?

mjonathan24

Your probably right about the granny and the boob-job.

I'm trying to give my sapph a fresh new updated look. almost a modern feel. My steering wheel is standard sapph rubberized one. looking a bit old and tatty. So had a Idea of looking at various options and looking to see what others did for custom options. The New ford Ka steering wheel looked appealing

Interior pieces have been totally custom re-upholstered similar design to new ford focus Recaro St seats. Coming out nice. Door cards have also been custom re-upholstered looking nice I think. I hope it will flow with the colour I chose for the car.

Cheers

I do have Pics, but its work in progress. Once the upholsterer is finished with the door cards I will post some up of it all complete. The seats I believe is now finished. He says looks nice, so hope it will all flow.

Also I've done some custom hydro-dipped carbon effect on some of the interior and exterior trims
