Default clutch issues, help needed asap

ok, the story is the gearbox was changed and whilst out i swapped the thrust bearing. once changed i also changed to a hydraulic clutch. now the biting point is realy high and it doesnt disengauge fully. anyway, the box had to come back off again as it was fucked, so whilst out i had the clutch repadded and fly skimmed. so, box fixed fly and clutch back on, and its still the same. even changing back to a cable its the same.

why is it doing this, my mot is tomorrow

All I was thinking is the clutch arm on the 2.0L 4x4 box is slightly different from the cossie one and if you fit one by mistake when putting one of these boxes into a cossie it gives you this exact problem.

Ok, so it seems to disengauge now, but the biting point is still silly high, like, higher than the brake pedal and it slips when it comes on boost

had the box off this evening, got another clutch fork which i have been assured is a 4x4 cosworth one and they are identical down to the part number.

dont know what to do know, got to wait until tuesday to fit my other box as im selling my bara one so any ideas before then would be greatfully recieved

Was it ok before you started this work?

If so then all you changed was release bearing and to hydraulic actuation in the first instance? Then you swapped back to cable and it was still high, so maybe points towards the release bearing, is it fitted correctly to the arm? Can't remember how they go on cossies as haven't played with one for over 10 years! But don't they clip into the arm?

Although saying that if it's protruding it'd prob have the opposite effect.

Maybe your pressure plate is fooked. Or flywheel been skimmed too much

i basicly changed the box, clutch arm and release bearing and hyd clutch, then the box went on, clutch was high, so went back to cable and was the same . The box came off as it popped out of second so whilst off i had the lutch and flywheel done. box back on and its still the same.

an above reply said it may be the clutch arm so i sourced another but looking with the box off tonight the arms are the same, so it leaves the msd thrust bearing as thats all i can think of now
