Smile Anyone ever ?

Anyone ever built their own pit ? I have just levelled a good section of my back garden and am going to start digging a hole for my new pit tomorrow ! As sad as it is I am actually quite excited after years of laying on my back getting covered in s**t !

My dad built a full length car pit in his old double garage. its usefull to put a drain in your pit though as water can sometimes run in through the door. they are so useful aswell

Are you going to shutter it and concrete it? We was going to do one for the shed we are putting up not but cant be arsed plus the neighbour has his own ramps.

Yes I have built a wooden mould. I have to go and buy some damp-proof course and then dig the hole and it will be ready for concrete. Only downside is it will be outside. But it will have its own drainage and a hard cover to prevent water getting in the first place...

Easy to do providing you use good drainage.

This is the rear of my Garage as it is double ended....

Little bit of earth to move still. Just burned the majority of the crap I have generated. THe mould of the pit is built. I just have to dig the hole and pour the concrete. Lay some hardcore or shingle and then lay the new flagged area for my little work area

i have a 15 foot long pit in my workshop i found its best to have a water pump connected to the drain so that when it does get wet in there its just a case of plugging the pump in and letting it drain itself (mine probably gets wetter than most as i have a habit of jetwashing the floor in the workshop instead of sweeping up then letting the water run into the pit lol)
