I run a GT2876 with a .86 rear housing on my 3dr mate. Pretty close to the 2871. I had to have a T25 exhaust flange welded onto the 2wd manifold. Not sure if they do a 28 frame with a T3 flange...
Car made 332rwhp on M400 MoTec with 1000cc injectors and a few other basic mods.
I did a motorkhana day yesterday and for tight small track work like that, the .86 rear house is a little too big. It just seems to make the power a little too late in the rev range.
It will really come down to what you want to do with the car and where you want the power to be.
