Been a while since I've done a right good session at Temple Bar in Dublin, but a group of 8 of us are away next weekend for 2 days of epic drinking.

What are prices like for a pint there these days? I'm aware some are around the £5.00 mark, but surely not every bar is the same?

I went there last year for my stag do. It's so friendly over there - love it! Drinks weren't the cheapest but some of the more locally type bars weren't too bad! Average iirc was 4-5 euro. Tbh, i went to Cardiff on a stag do this year and spent about the same as Dublin.

It's more expensive than the mainland, but we have manly 35ml measures unlike the ghey 25ml english ones

As a rule of thumb, the further you head from the centre, the cheaper the drinks are. Couldn't tell you the prices as its been over a year since i've been drinking down south.

 

Aye, Cardiff's pretty dear in all honesty. But from what I recall, the last time I did Temple Bar, the more high profile bars were the most expensive because of the entertainment that comes with them. But I was just trying to remember if there were any cheaper bars....can't remember for the life of me.

So you got any suggestions for the Stag Do there, any particular places to go in your opinion?

It's a bit of a vague memory tbh! What we did was drink in the city during the day and end up at Temple Bar, that way it didn't work out too bad!

 

Hmm, sounds familiar. Doesn't help that you have 2 hours on a boat with a bar before you reach Dublin does it

 

Bang on, Guinness is €4.50 average Any kind of lager is more towards €5. We're having a good stint of weather too, great craic when everyone is out in a good mood in TB

I went on a stag weekend over there about 3 years ago

Fantastic place and fantastic people ( the girls love the english boys )

was fookin expensive tho

 

Well worth it, its a "special" occasion. Only do it once

 

Average price for a pint is around 4.50/5.00 euro but it gets more expensive in the more popular pubs. Vodka and Red Bull is ridiculous price. Well over the 10 euro mark
Temple bar is expensive but a good spot. Best thing to do is start off in the city centre and work your way up to temple bar. Otherwise you find your pockets emptying very fast

 

I think that's gonna happen regardless
