I think a slight stretch can look ok on some lowered cars but these look aweful and cant imagine they are terribly safe.

Dear god! I'm surprised the tyre fitter even fitted those.

Go tell him you'll buy them, and give him a punch in the face for being a cock!

Very dangerous I should imagine. There is no tyre wall so you are only going to roll onto the rim itself.

Yea I agree, sure the owner thinks it's a bit bent too but would say something like: "it's so euro that it hurts man" and pish like that.

Cheers,

Exceedingly dodgy. The sidewall has no flex left in it. Drifters use a degree of stretch as the reduced sidewall flex makes it easier to brake traction and easy to do transitions between direction of drifts. To use stretched tyres to any degree on the road you have to be some sort of muppet.

semi stretch tyres can look ok on lowered cars given the 'euro' look but having stretch tyres on a big power car is just dumb

I've seen worse, used on the road and passing the mot as well, to my mind it is lethal, and should be banned.

That is how alot of them have to do it. You need to burst the seat out to the bead instantly, because you can't get enough airflow in to do it otherwise.

they look mad and to much stretch for me BUT, there is no definitive evidence that stretched tires will fail any more than "normal" ones, as for the law there is no specific law against them but i am sure they could fine somthing else.
tire stretching has been going on since the 80s its nothing new, i like a little stretch but when the rim pokes out i think it looks wank.

They look fookin STUPID! I recon if you threw the car hard enough into a corner with them like that, the tyres would just slide off the lip of the wheel that holds the pressure in and pop!, You're Fucked!!!

There not as unsafe as they look, drifters in japan have been using stretched tires since the 80s and they take some abuse.

Thats because when tyres are like this they break traction really easy as there is no sidewall flex!

sideways and safe don't really go hand in hand

yeah or the usual line of "if your not in the scene you wont understand" while looking down upon anyone else who doesnt follow their scene. Quite common to have the up thier own arse attitude with the FAG scene. Sorry i meant VAG scene but you can see why i get confused, fag behaviour on a fag car called a VAG

im sure there is no specific law too, but im sure you could get them under construction and use regulations and i bet the manufacturers would side with the police/CPS.

Just needs a first case to set a precedent.

I imagine when someone gets killed by a car with tyres like that then it might happen as the kid gets death by dangerous or similar and the CPS use a tyre expert to show the tyres were a contributry factor.

Will happen one day. Just the way the legal system happens it would probably take another decade to turn the outcome of a prosecution into a law.
