very hot today at the start of my runs my acts were at 70c ! i still ran though lol
tried a rolling burnout twice but got major wheel hop and aborted, major wheel hop of the line aswell trying to launch hard so i was just clutch slipping and generally struggling with the launch.
best et was 11.9 and best mph was 134, im happy was a good day, my 60fts were rangeing from 2.2 to 2.7 so im happy with the times, everyone i spoke to said with my mph its an easy 10 second car if its set up right to stop the tramping.
134 mph terminal at 1750kg proves it has over 700 whp, when the sun dropped and it cooled down tonight i had one last run terrible start and spinning to half track but got my best terminal, i could physically feel how much harder the car was pulling, acts at the start line had dropped from 70c down to 30c.

im happy with it, i tried lowering the boost to launch better but at anything less than 2 bar boost it starts to lean off into the high 11s afr, i can hear my fuel pumps sound louder than usual and battery voltage drops when really hot from 14.1 down to 13.5 so i think the alternator is getting heat soaked maybe need a heatshield, im gonna check the fuel pumps and make sure they are walbro 255 high pressures and not standards as they run 6 bar.

Good to hear the day went well, 134mph is still fast !
Shame about the wheel hop, I'd imagine every bush in the back of the car shots itself when you go wot lol
What pressures did you run the tyres at ?

on my way home tonight i just tried second gear rolling punching it with acts down to 19c and the difference in the arse dyno was easily noticable, the heat of today helped me in the sense the tyres and track were hot anyways, so slipping of the line with no burnout and then it clean hooking in second through to the finish line but seriously lacking power due to acts being through the roof.
im just waiting on getting a new 4 poster ramp then the box is coming off again, i guess my first port of call on the wheel hop is to poly bush all the backend first, its even wheel hoping on the street now aswell

I can see air temps appearing high due to heat soak. But I'd expect them to drop to more sensible levels within seconds of rolling.
What are air temps normally like on the road, before and after a good pull in 4th gear ?
I'm surprised you werent able to get a better 60ft with the Nittos. First time I used them and only relatively small 245's I was straight down to 1.8s 60fts without even trying too hard.
They are a great tyre.

air temp at start of my run was 70c, when i had done my run and coasted around the corner at the top they were on 53c and water temps were 100c, last run tonight end of run was iirc 19c it was so hot today it was unreal must of been the hottest day ever for october it was 29c.

I should have got a few videos really so you can see what we saw from our angle, really struggling to get power down at the start but once you got 2/3 of the way up the track she fooking flew,
There were some REALLY quick cars like the multicoloured rover 220 turbo that was detroying other cars, he flew off the line and was practically halfway up the track before you started getting the power down but you still just managed to get past him before the finish line, doing about 40mph more than him
Your right on the temperature, it was fookin hot all day, felt like there was no air at all

Car looked great up there but like i said to my mates, you could tell the hopping was severly hindering your starts.
I was expecting you to be launching hard but after seeing your first start i understood why you was not. It was ridulously hot too.
Sounded great though.

yes mate i did try launching like a mofo but if id kept my foot in the car would of come home in pieces lol
you should of come and said hello fella
considering my launches managing 11.9 and 134 mph shows how much potential the car has imo, once ive got my new ramp i will be probably fully polybushing the back of the car as a starting point.

well the weather is getting good now so i went out to the sup, has been stood for 5 months since pod, new battery first turn of engine fired straight up
got a full clutch rebuild kit ready to go in hopefully next week
3 new carbon plates and all new metal plates, flywheel was as new 300 miles ago so should be ok.
then ive got some wiring to sort out and fit rear seat belts, possibly new fuel pumps and ready for this year then hopefully. i think after 5 months away from it its gonna feel mega fast again

clutch is fitted the hub snap ring had broke so i had to make one working perfect so far though, ive done all of 40 miles of the 1000 miles needed to run it in lol
and finally found some baby seats that fit in bucket seats
just need some dry weather and free time to run the clutch in now.

about 150 miles so far lol
ive been busy getting the skyline ready and useing that.
the boost on the supra wont go below 1.6 bar so i need to sort that aswell so i can get it down to 1 bar so its easier to bed the clutch in.
i may take it out sunday for a few more

800 whp r35 gtr is next on my list, not yet though
i dont really know what to respond to that, why on earth would i need something faster ? if ur refering to only getting 134 mph in a 1/4 mile its hardly surprising considering i had very little traction through the first 3 gears, i need something with more grip not more power is the next step forward, and a proper road car and i mean proper comfy, air con etc but 800 whp built to do it like the supra in an r35 is gonna be mega £££££ !

Running Power in excess of 800bhp is a big call & will require lots of development & money to get there in any way reliably.
You were going to kick my cars butt at one stage expect you now know that wont be easy but dont lose the faith our date at Brunters still stands .
Stick to it & dont get distracted by other projects or you will finish neither.
Cheers Rod.

Its called development you will get these setbacks. I understand the peeps on here think it just happens but it dont whatever car you have.

it will be a while before i can get an r35, gonna cost about £100000 for what im after next.
i got the skyline finished tonight air con done, suspension bushes done etc shes now sat outside ready to use
so i got the supra up on the ramp, drained the diff oil and honestly the oil is like mineral engine oil that has done 12000 miles i kid you not ! its as black as can be and feels grainy i can see particles in it ! gonna flush it and put decent oil in to try it.
exhaust is off, just need to get gearbox off tommorrow as i want to check the clutch and im gonna get the flywheel skimmed as it does have a few small sores on it, and i can feel it slightly on the pedal a bit of bump bump as the last plate releases.
im also getting a tiny vibration if braking hard from 100+ mph so im gonna check disk run out and make sure the discs are 100% square.
im not giving up yet

well i got really stuck into it today.
the clutch was good but i had a bit of judder so i got the flywheel skimmed and it feels perfect now half clutching on the ramp.
i dropped the diff oil out and it was as black as old engine oil and sludgy !
so i flushed it out and put new oil in.
just need to try it out and see what the diff sounds like now, it was surrounded by sludge so it cant of been helping it.
i found the small oil leak thats been plaqueing me aswell, the turbo oil return pipe was only semi tight on the union.
the brake disc i checked for runout and there within 1 thou so no issues there, what i did see though is an area in the shape of the brake pads slightly raised and rusty, i think this might of been my slight vibration so ive started cleaning it off, its coming of ok with alot of elbow with some emery paper, cleaning all the faces aswell hub, disc in and out and rim so as everything is 100% flat.
ive enjoyed spending the day working on it so its a good sign im getting some love back.

cheers im cracking on and trying to get it sorted.
all the rims are off now, all brakes removed, i had a very slight vibration under braking only under heavy braking from 100mph+.
when i brought the car it was braking on the inside pistons only ! outside of caliper hadnt been bled up.
so i bled it up an used it, unbeknown to me the outer pads had actually never been used so once bled up outer pads needed bedding in.
ive just used it hard pretty much straight of and the outer pad has overheated causing what is seen on the disc, its a bit of melted brake pad fused to the disc !
ive checked disc runout and theres not even 1 thou of variation except where the brake pad mark is, ive cleaned the other side with sandpaper and its good as new.
its no problem and has cleaned up fine but just yet another issue that has come from incorrect installation of parts, £5000 worth of brakes and not bled up properly, and ns front caliper only had 1 bolt holding it on, the other bolt was in but to long and bottomed out 5mm above the hub face ! if i wasnt a mechanic this car would of been long dead !
