Angry Vw tech help

I am having trouble with my passat 1.8 20v 1999

I have asked on a few vw forums but they are a bunch of wankers and dont help no one so i thought i might try here as i know you lot are very helpful

After a few miles driving it starts to run like shit and the cat stinks so i plugged my comp in it and get the code C1500. I have been all over the net but not had any luck finding the code. I have tried a new air flow meter and that didnt fix it so i have a feeling its the lamba sensor causing me the trouble.

Any help on this would be great guys as i am about ready to burn the fecker out

Can't help with an exact passat problem but my escort 1.4 did this and the cat was blocked,I manually "de catted" it and she was spot on,might be worth a look?mine sounded like it was hissing,no power and in the end it acually failed, just died on a hill.

I left it 5 mins and it started and it wouldn't hit 60,after the decat it saw 115!!!

Did tap a bit after that!!

Ty for the reply vaughant but its not the cat as i have loads of pressure at the back box as i thought the same but clear the code and its mint again for a few miles. I think its the lamba sensor playing up as when i go into live data its not switching much at all.

Just dont want to buy one to find the code is for something different and chucked more money away. The thing that gets me is why the hell dont vw use the same codes for stuff as other car makers

You sure its not a p code not c?

P1500 code for VW would be fuel pump relay malfunction in circuit...
