Do you still have the rubber doughnut on the car that the spring seats into? Looks like it is missing to me?

I didn't, but that is the only reason I could think as to why the ride height was so low.....

FYI, the Ahmed springs are NOT standard height (and I would never have told you this ), they lower a 3dr by 10mm .

I think you went for the 10" fast road rear springs? These are the same as for any Sierra Cosworth (it is only the fronts which are unique to the 3dr), which should have given you a similar ride height to the ones in this thread, so something defo looks amiss:

Simple test - does you Dad's squat the same? It may just be the size / make tyres you have being the issue .

What do you run EXACTLY?

I'm sure if you fit an ARB that'll cure the issue. If you compare your rear to the other car you have and swap each component - springs, shocks, etc the only factor will be the ARB.

Surprised you didn't mention that you have no ARB at the start of this thread

my next question is would the arb stop the car squatting as much on the road as when I had the avo and ahmed springs the tyres were rubbing away at the body kit when id hit a dip in the road etc so will the arb help this?

Only if the ground is uneven or you are driving up it at an unusual angle, otherwise the suspension should compress equally?

When you say the "same" do you mean "similar" or EXACTLY the same?

The shoulders on the Toyos may be a lot squarer than other makes or the width may be wider than stated. For example, the 235/40x17 R888 is actually 245mm wide.....

and how do i find out if the width or shoulder is more squarer?

I havent driven the car with the custom springs so cant determine if there going to catch yet but the reason i cant deterime this is cus i cant get the car out the drive

Look at other 235 tyres .

So it's already WORSE than the other springs then (because at least you could get out of the drive with these) ?

Yes correct i could get out the drive when i had the front wheels on the rear and the rears on the front

So no i can get out with these the same as the others if i force it out ie put it in reverse and make it move backwards thats how i did it with the others but iv just refitted my bodykit and dont want to damage it

Use wooden planks to make a gentle slope to get the car onto the road?

Yes. The ARB will reduce the amount of travel for each wheel.

3 door and Sapph ARB are different I think.

Rear hubs are the same though - you asked somewhere else I think.

no mounting points are different.
3dr mounts on the outside of the arms in front of the hub

saph/escort mount inside close to the diff beside the brake lines
here

also the drop links and different lengths for 3dr to the saph/escort

As you are in Oz, you can get the Whiteline rose jointed adjustable drop links for not too much, and yes, you can get Powerflex for the ARB (you just need to specify size).

you can just about see in my picture you need to make some blocks because the arb can't sit flat against the chassis, it needs to be about 25-30mm away.

Any Whiteline distributor in Oz . Do a search on Google, or if you are that much of a drongo , then I can supply them, but seems a bit silly them being shipped all the way from Oz to a UK distributor, only to be shipped all the way back . I can even give you the ref you need for the correct length . Could it be any more simple?

I have an escos arb here mate if you want it - no brackets for it though but I am sure we could work something out with other brackets. Paul has my 3 dr arb i think if you hassle him.

Just tried to call you and left a message but not on the mobile you called me with - and old number but your voice still on message bank.
