What car? MSD do tasty magnetic ones...

 

I think halfords keep a selection of different ones.

 

I did think about treating myself to some magnetic ones..
And it's a little 1.25 Fezza.

a pair of mole grips should get it off

 

mushroom the end with a big hammer then just chap on a single hex socket
should come off ok, most motor factors will stock old ford 1's,
good thing is the old fords all had the same sump plug fitted so be easy to get 1 quite cheap(couple quid)

 

how badly mangled? if it's an an external hex, before you try anything, get some irwins on it:

Just whack it off with a chisel on the edge, make a indent then whack it round a little and it will soon come loose, never failed me yet.

Thanks for the help guys, my mate has lent me his Irwin set so i'll give them a whirl first, if not i'll give some of your tips a go.
