Default DIY baffled sump

Has anyone baffled there own sump and if so is there anything I need to know before trying it my self. Ie is there a level it needs to sit at or do all baffled sumps need trap doors?
Am going to do a bit more looking into it before I attempt it.

Thanks for any advice

I haven't mate but seen plenty pics of them over the years . Would it not be easier to use the later blacktop sump them ? It's sort of baffled as standard not with trap doors tho

Make a black top two piece sump fit
As there not bad inside
They have a nice scrapper as std
But it could do with a little knife edge on it
