I've been driving mine and my brother's Evos around.

Great in a straight line, and you can step the back out a little with a touch of the throttle which can help cure the understeering into hedge situations that can creep up

Fairly rubbish when it comes to stopping abruptly or cornering without understeer at slower speeds - really need winter tyres and then they'd be awesome

AWD Jag X-type 2.5 v6, with some nice vredestein wintrac extremes on all 4 corners has been outstanding, its done everything ive asked it to do, its my dads but im thinking of getting one for next year for myself, they can be had nice and cheap aswell,

my M3 is utter utter shite, but then its on summer tyres, but its good fun going sideways

My mums 1.6 Astra G, on some winter tyres has been outstanding aswell,

E39 M5 is the best car I have ever driven in the snow yet, although I have gone to the extra effort of installling smaller alloys and snow tyres to assist.
I have tried to get it stuck and haven't managed, some cars are better than others but the beemer is FAR exceeded anything i thought it could ever do in the snow.

SNAP!

I really thought I could move it on sat. My M3 was in middle at back of drive(room for 6 cars, 2*3) and the x5 was in front to left and quashqai front right so i was going to go bewteen them. I moved a foot and the arse started sliding from side to side as the diff tried to grip. Shat it and reversed back the foot and left it

I've got a 1L Corsa for running round in through the winter, it's been everywhere I've pointed it, don't care if it gets twatted or anything, takes all the worry out of driving in these conditions.

Hired a lwb rwd transit on saturday to move house though, and that thing was a nightmare

mine was ok last year, but ive lowered it this year, and once i get it moving, it drives ok, with the TC turned off anyway, but my front bumper is like a snow plough, i snapped a side skirt clip, and my exhaust was catching on the snow/ice in the middle of the tyre tracks. so i parked the cunt up and walked everywhere.

Try driving my Lexus mate, then you'd definatly understand. Yes i agree alot if it, if not most, is down to the driver with the majority of cars, but sometimes it IS the car's fault.

Am I the only one that fails to see the point in this thread!? It doesn't matter a dam what car everyone is saying they are in if they dont state the tyres and size for reference.

I am running around in a cupra tdi with 225/45/17 summer tyres on and surprise surprise it is totally usless in the snow i have up here in scotland just now, only been stuck once but sliding everywhere the rest of the time.

If i actually stuck all season or winter tyres on the situation would be totall different and the car would be great but as got x4 new tyres last month and didnt think about winter tyres at the time i am in no financial state to fork out now.

Appart from that.......thread win!
