Here are the graphs for toque as promised and are better than i said steve but not as much difference between the spec r and airtech as i sad but a massive difference between the radtec and spec r..
It was quite confusing to look back on as there were lots of graphs overlaying each other so you can see where i got a bit mudled up..
iv got the best radtec one the best airtech and spec r for your comparisons..
You can clearly see where the airtech surged and where the spec r didnt but otherwise the airtech performed very well for the money although imo would be idealy suited to a 450 hp motor or one with under 2 bar of boost of course depending on spec..
Please dont forget these tests were done with very cool ambient temps and inlet temps so the power and torque would be around 5% less on hotter day..

So in reality there is negligible difference between the airtech and Spec R ?

Only the rad-tec seems to fall behind.

But are all cores used of similar size and makeup, to be used as comparable tests ?

The Radtec was my original intercooler that i have had for 8 years, its only 50mm thick so will perform worse.

The Airtec one is 70mm thick

No idea how thick the Spec-R one is

The spec r is half the size of both of them and doesnt cause surge and holds boost better and recovers from heat roughly 3 times quicker!!
thats all on a cold day so in the real world on a hot day the spec r will kill the others also dont forget if a car has surge the only way to get over that will be to turn the boost down but with the spec r the wasnt any surge so can be pushed harder and would of took the power further in this example with further mapping..

half the size ? That would make it very small indeed. The pics posted in the other thread, it looked quite big ?

They are about 70% the size of the full RS500 style and 3inch thick and there are another 2 sizes for the next power levels.

The internal mods i did on mine was to make a bellmouth to the exit side of the intercooler pipe
The inlet doesnt need one ( prob even help with surge )
The 3" exit pipe is welded to the flat top of the end tank so would cause a restriction if i hadnt added this mod,
I think if i made another one a better option would be to use 3" pipe for the end tanks
you could make it in one piece with a 90 deg at the top.

this is a picture of the off set brackets you get when you buy the cooler. (for free )

here's one with my airtec 60mm rad fitted with my cooler

i wanted oil cooler brackets fitting because i will be adding one at some point, this was all in with my price.

this is just for show because the one pete will supply me is going to be side exit cooler so it will save on the price of the fittings, not needing 90 degree bends
also it will be rubber mounted to eliminate heat soak

What throttle is on that hart plenum ????

I thought STD tbs were 60mm, then 65mm for the small turbo then 70mm for the rs500s?

Std RS500 throttle butterfly is approx 65mm, hose I/D would be 76mm.

Not even with my Spec-R intercooler ?

Thought it would stay around what it was on the Test Day, maybe a few BHP less.

You booked in yet ?
