dunno...but get a LASER BEAM temperature gun, to check your tyres after a couple of hot laps!!!

this should help you see if the pressure is too high / low............APPARENTLY!!!

I was told a while ago that you should run the tyres slightly harder than you would on the road to reduce sidewall flex.

Spiky,

Don't start too high as your tyre pressure will rise quite a lot on slicks.

I THINK I ran about 22 and 24 front and rear, but I may be well off - it's been a very long time

Just write it all down and post here as Im out later

Pirelli's so far from that info.... should be ideally run at 24 - 26 cold and 30 hot - but if they are soft compounds then its all a different set of figures.

for a general rule for slicks , you DO NOT run higher pressures at all on anything to start , but , slicks , the front of your car is heavier than the rear , so a slight increase on the front over the back , so if were looking at something like 220's then i would start at 26 front and 24 rear , and work from that, if your getting bad feelings back from the cars handling adjust accordingly !!

does that make sence ??

do not run them too low or you will fook them in a lap at speed !!

as for road tyres - just dont bother with them - ther shite !!

Agree with all that Mark - especially the road tyres comment

I can feel a vast difference in performance of my tyres if they drop down just 3 psi from where I normally run them at.

The key is to keep checking and adjusting ALL day to keep them optimum.

x12 is a soft to mid range moulded slick, will take about 2 laps to get up to temperature.

Dunlops I find (on my car) run better if set slightly higher than others as the sidewall is not quite as strong. Only marginally tho'.
