Your first 5 acts as prime minister?
Saw this on another forum, if you got elected tomorrow, what would your first 5 acts as prime minister be?
Mine:
1) Stop ALL "job seeking" benefits completely after 1 month of unemployment and introduce a government work scheme where you are given a job, if you do the job you get your benefits, if you dont do it then you dont get paid, you dont get entitlement to housing support and you dont get access to the NHS. If you have kids and allow yourself into that situation then they get taken into care.
2) Rise VAT to 25% and get this country properly out of debt
3) Pull out of afghanistan, never get involved in a war about gas or oil again, and cut the defence budget by 75% and use the money to find and prosecute benefit fradusters, we need some defenses, but nothing like what we have, we have no natural enemies likely to invade us anyway, so all we need is to meet the minimum requirements to stay part of NATO etc.
4) Spend ALL money collected in road tax revenue and fuel tax on the transport system
5) Anyone who smokes or is obese or drinks excessively etc will not be given NHS treatment for anything relating to those lifestyle choices until they have had 3 months clean (in the case of obesity they would have to hit a weight loss target each month) If its not important enough for you to quit smoking to help solve it then its not important enough to waste taxes on.

There are millions of people in this country who go and sign on once a fortnight and do hardly anything towards getting a job and still get paid.
That would all stop, so would housing benefits, and so would NHS treatment, if you dont want to be in the system thats your choice, but there is not going to be anyone just being in the half of it they want.

to be honest chip, your umber 1 is abit shit mate, ive been out of work for 3 months,not that im not lookin for work, just that there isnt much work up here at the min. so under your rule me, my missis and my daughter would be out on the street with no help. so i think your a cunt. i spent 4 years in the armed forces fighting for this country, but at the min im going through a hard time trying to find a job to provide for my family, but under your rules i get no help? im not in this situation through choice, ive never been out of work, left school at 16, got an apprenticeship, joined the army at 19, left the army at 23, worked for a big company until i was made redundant last year at 27, since then ive had 3 temp jobs but now am on the dole, but not by choice. you really can not tar everyone with the same brush, yes there are some people out there that dont want to work, but not all of us.

You would have been offered a job at the end of the first month, and if you took it your mrs and your kid would be fine, also because the job would be saving the government money you would be paid at a higher rate than the current unemployment rate, so they would be BETTER off, plus you would have continual employment on your CV to help you with finding another job.

You also need to massively sort out immigration... and also stop chav jobless scum having children they can't pay for.
you need a licence to have a dog. why not a child! and to get a license you need to prove you can support child without benefits!

Lee, yes the devolution of our society is a terrifying prospect, each generation seems destined to be a higher and higher percentage of life long benefit claiming scum than the last until it eventually collapses as there are no longer enough people in work to subsidise all the lazy useless cunts anymore as the numbers keep shifting more and more that way.
Great britain is getting less great by the decade.
On the immigration front, immigration im not against, I just feel it should be on a points system so that we choose to let in only people who will benefit or genuinely need help, and that help should be temporary unless they prove they are prepared to work for it.

Must say I agree with most of Chip's points to be honest. Wouldn't do things too much differently myself.
And I also agree with Lee, that you should have to have a licence to have children. Having a child you can't afford shouldn't entitle you to claim loads of money from the state, you should work for it.
I'd also scrap a lot of university places and put emphasis back into the further education system, with apprenticeships and try and get some value into some honest graft. We shouldn't need thousands of migrants doing vocational jobs, we should be training our own young people to do them, rather than telling them all to go to university and get a degree in computer games design, drama, psychology or the other faddy subjects. Course places should be capped unless the qualification would be in a useful subject, so universities produce teachers, nurses, doctors and engineers, not a load of people who have a useless degree in a pointless subject area.
Also, scrap road tax altogether as it serves no purpose. Road users should be taxed based on mileage, so just have road tax as part of the fuel duty system, so the more fuel you burn, the more you pay. And the proceed go on maintaining and improving the road network, as well as making public transport better, which may encourage people to use it more.

But 100% of road tax and fuel tax should be spent on the transport system definately!

if i was the pm this is going to be a harsh time for all the country.
1 re plan the army navy an airforce. mainly build a bigger navy. with more weapons.
2 brake out of the eu . whats the point of being in them dam thing when we have a nice sea around us. leave europe problems with them. it also stop's alians cumin in to the country lol
