You would have been offered a job at the end of the first month, and if you took it your mrs and your kid would be fine, also because the job would be saving the government money you would be paid at a higher rate than the current unemployment rate, so they would be BETTER off, plus you would have continual employment on your CV to help you with finding another job.
i spent 4 years in the armed forces fighting for this country but at the min im going through a hard time trying to find a job to provide for my family, but under your rules i get no help?
You would get a job, and if you wanted it training would be available too to help you find a private job to move onto.
im not in this situation through choice, ive never been out of work, left school at 16, got an apprenticeship, joined the army at 19, left the army at 23, worked for a big company until i was made redundant last year at 27, since then ive had 3 temp jobs but now am on the dole, but not by choice. you really can not tar everyone with the same brush, yes there are some people out there that dont want to work, but not all of us.
Well then surely you would be greatful of being given a useful job that you could take pride in knowing that it was helping the country?
One example of the jobs that I would create that might suit a man with your military background would be street wardens, who patrol the streets to provide the eyes and ears we've lost because of police cutbacks.
Ok its not the best job in the world but at least you would be making a useful contribution to society.
