you getting any legal advice?? might be worth trying to build up some mitigation to try and make it look different than a normal bit of unwarranted violence.
yea i think the case definately deserves some mitigation. depends on what the judges verdict is on the day.....

but every little helps dont it. Youve served your country and were only doing what you thought best to protect your cousin. slightly excessive maybe by legal standards but hardly the same as most the CHAV loosers they get in court who beat someone up for "disrespektin' them in da hood" or other looser excuses they use.

your highly trained instincts and all that. instincts taught by the forces.....

im sure between you, you can make up some BS to try and help.

Believe me mate it is possible, I had a few problems one night and genuinely accidentally smacked one of the guys that was splitting us up. I had 3 people having a go at me and when i felt someone grab me i just assumed it was one of the 3 so i just struck out. For that incident i ended up with 4 charges, GBH, affray and 2 other very minors which i can't even remember.

Nearly spot on but i always thought the maximum was just 6 months, if the magistrates think the crime warrants a longer punishment they refer the case to crown court.

The CPS are not always complete idiots, they threw my case out as i was provoked and was one against 3.

Best of luck mate, hopefully you'll get off as you don't come across as a knob, just somebody that got drawn in to a couple of unfortunate brawls. It might be time to reconsider how you deal with situations though, i used to go out with the intention of "sorting" out any problems that might crop up with a slap (i'm not saying i would always win but i was never afraid to find out) but once i thought i was looking at a prison sentence my whole outlook changed, now i pretty much do whatever i can to avoid trouble.

Football hoolignasim (spelling) and what this chap did aren't the same IMO. He took his 9 year old cousin to wembly to watch Villa v Man Utd and was more then pissed off with the result and wanted nothing more then to get home and then a Manc gave it the biggun and he thought his cousin would be in danger so took care of things. Bit different to organising a fight an hour before kick off which is what happens. Watch The Football Factory film for more of an insight. Now, voilence doesn't solve anything and it sounds like your missis was possibly caught in the crossfire of a scrap and took one in the face. I challange any of you fella's to take your bird or fella if you are that way to a club and see her get "accidently" punched in the face and not do anything about it. "There, there dear, it's ok, the swelling and bruising will go down eventually". Do me a fucking favour, you'll all knock him out there and then if your mates didn't do the job for you !

[QUOTE=DanRSturbo;5069692]Watch The Football Factory film for more of an insight.QUOTE]

The films cringworthy and what led to the down fall of footy violence with an influx of young chavvy wannabe's thinking it was cool getting in a police escort. Only good thing about that film was the tall kid with the long stony jacket, the coat was my mates they lent for the film of him.

That's exactly what it is now round here, loads of chavvy cunt's who wont go away but kick off watching it on a telly in the town but they think there the bollocks because if they get done it's in the paper there football hooligan's which could be mat's saving grace as he was with his cousin. Tbh i'd proper play on that

I had read as far as the reply I quoted at the time I quoted it.

I have now read the rest, and you come across differently in the rest.

You still need some sort of help or punishment though IMHO, either clinical or criminal depending on where the real truth lies between how your first portrayed yourself and are now trying to do so.

And I would in light of the rest of the thread now change my reply to "you deserve to spend time either in a mental hospital or a prison" rather than just prison, but either way you need taking off the streets and sorting out as your behaviour is unacceptable.
fair comment...mental hospitals abit below the belt tho mate..as i only got mad because my loved one`s got hurt/threatened...

Agreed, when I read that back after I wrote it I felt the same, by taking off the streets I didnt mean locked up for a year in a mental health hospital like that read, I meant just put into therapy of some sort, which is why I had already edited it at 11:04 before you replied at 11:05 as I realised it was badly worded myself.

And the football incident?

You hit a stranger in front of a 9 year old boy and think that's normal?

Another example of Britain's underclass at work again.....

Talking

Think the mitigating circumstances will help. People must understand how angry you must have been knowing someone punched your other half and at the footie protecting your cousin sounds fair enough to me. May I also suggest maybe taking up martial arts as it helps me get rid of stress in a safe controlled environment.
Not saying what you did was right and as you've realised it wasn't the best thing to do but can fully understandyour reasons and as you've accepted you were wrong you don't deserve to go down so I for one hope you don't.
Can I have second offer on keeping your car from ceasing if you do tho lol.

If you believe the new version of events, he hit a stranger who he was worried if he didnt might put the 9 year old boy in danger.

IF, he genuinely felt that and isnt just saying it now to try and look less of a cunt, then one of a couple of things is true:
1) He correctly read the situation and the 9 year old was indeed in danger
2) He is too hot headed and paranoid and jumped to an exagerated conclusion with regards to the level of risk involved for the 9 year old

Personally my gut feeling is that it was the 2nd, and that he needs to learn to calm down and should have just run away like he did but without hitting anyone first, but I wasnt actually there to know for sure.

and commendable though that is, it still doesn't excuse your actions.

I go to football nearly every week and have never even tried to get near a fight.

Suppose its just down to different levels of mentality....

You chose a job with good pay and good training for people who start with little education, which is a sensible choiec for a lot of people joining the army to make.
I actually get pretty fed up though of troops and the police etc saying they are somehow doing it for the rest of us when that is so rarely the real case IMHO, and its normally the ones who preach the loudest about how they did it for the selfless reasons who actually did it for the selfish ones IMHO.
