And your not on this planet if you think a 'cozy' (I assume this is for warming your teapot) can keep up with a 911 on bends
This thread should have its own windows for half of you lot to slobber on

Again out of the box I would recon the cos would get murdered even by an older 964 which was the last of the real tail happy cars , from the 993 on they were all 4wd apart from the gt2's or cars with the front prop pulled. With mods the cossies can be great handling cars but then again if your starting on mods the porkers can be improved on aswell.

and i love how everyone who knows nothing refers to them as vw's.
the man who designed the porsche was enlisted to design the beetle.that is it! not the other way round like most people think, the porsche did not come from the beetle

lol u boys do get out of your prams lol,
if i had not driven a porsche before i wouldnt have commented, i can obviously only comment on what i've driven which is a 911 at palmer sport,a 911 turbo 1976,a 996 3.6,and a boxter 3.2 which drove well but power a bit flat
as for being a school kid lol wish i was that young again
ford boys stick up for there brand same as you porsche boys fair do's but come on a 911 feels like its got flat rear tyres when pushed hard on a track,
as tim harvey said on tv there an aquired taste if you can get used to the floaty rear end like rear steer then you love em just i dont,
and agree if all cars were std a porsche would be quicker but that werent how the thread started.

@ cozy777
I have also driven the Palmer sport 996 - it is a bog standard Carrera 2 with the slushy tiptronic box - not even in the same league as a turbo (which I noted was missing from cozzys list of cars he has driven).
Frankly, bad as it is, I would still put my money on even the Palmer sport 996 over a std cossie through the twisties!
As far as the flat tyres thing - I wonder if it actually had flat tyres? I can find no other plausible explanation for your description..

jj read again i'm giving my opinon on cars i've driven inc a 76 911 turbo as for the new 911 turbo probably brilliant i dont no as not driven that but the original thread was a 350 bhp saph and a 911 turbo year i dont no but if it was old one then the saph should have been all over the porka and as stated both std cars then yes the porka would win.....

Most people refer to them as glorified Beetles, me included, and I think it's just a term of endearment rather than a dislike of em. If YOU read up on their history, VW and Porsche have been intertwind from pretty much day 1, and it's a little bit more than just the same designer.
To save you having to look, read this little extract:
The 356 was created by Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche (son of Dr. Ing. Ferdinand Porsche, founder of the company). Like its cousin, the Volkswagen Beetle (which Ferdinand Porsche Senior had designed), the 356 was a four-cylinder, air-cooled, rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive car utilizing unitized pan and body construction. While the 356's body was an original design by Porsche employee Erwin Komenda, its mechanicals (including engine, suspension and chassis) were derived from the Volkswagen. The first 356 was road certified in Austria on June 8, 1948, and used many Volkswagen parts for manufacturing economy.

we are talking about the newer models that are not so loose on the tail...... not the 1976 model....

Ahhhh now that is where you are wrong my friend.... it is SIMILAR but not the same! Porsche has 'tweaked' the chassis quite considerably! when you break it all down in fact, they are very different!
Oh.. and its the Q5 that has similarities, the Q7 is a longer wheelbase and chassis
