Default Cossie vs 911 turbo (lesson learnt lol!)

just drove past a 911 turbo on motorway to come off at next junction onto a bypass near home thats quite a steep & fast road when its quiet.
911 turbo decides to come right up behind my back bumper, never come across one of these before, so thought to myself fuck it roads quiet lets see what happens???
saff cossie 4x4 running approx 350 bhp on msd set up
well i dropped from 4th to 3rd full boost & revs to 6500 approx 911 turbo still glued to my back bumper,4th gear still glued to me,then fuck me 911 right up the inside of me & fuck off hes gone & there was no catching him till he backed off again, past me like i was stood still that was one of the fastest cars my cossies been up against different league all together.arse well & truly handed to me on a plate lol!
caught the guy up after hed backed off got along side one another & gave each other a friendly thumbs up
just got home & check the spec of the 911 turbo
approx £108,000 pound new
500 bhp & 650 nm torque
0-60 = 3.7 secs
0-100 = 7.8 secs
top speed 194 mph

like i said lesson learnt lmao! , that cars in a league of its own!

anybody else put there cossie up against one?????

you would beat most of the porshes on the road though tbf. but the 911 turbos have been around for nearly 50 years and there not to be taken lightly hahaha

Wrong..........first 911 Turbo was in mid 70s so only 35 years ago and they only had 260 bhp iirc ,so early ones not as quick as current 500bhp model ........surprisingly

Thats 500bhp & 480ft-lb. With 350bhp & 4x4 you were going to be up against it. Their are Cosworths that would leave it for dead in a straight drag, it may be a tad handy round a circuit though.

I sold my 420bhp cossie for one (albeit a lowly 996 variant), and I can confirm that it out accelerated my old cossie!

Mind you - the main benefit is the somewhat larger gap between breakdowns!

i had a play with one in my old corsa (294bhp / 319ft/lbs) and they were "pretty much" an even match from about 50 to about 130..... he wouldnt take it any further but tbh think it would have destroyed me from there on up!

AWSOME motors!

Good on you for having a go.
They are quick cars I was shocked when I got mine, after having a fairly decent spec escort.

Not standard ones there are not!

You are talking modified ones....

Modify the 911 and then start talking about FAST cars....

as you WELL know... the 9FF 996 Turbo CABRIOFUCKINGLET that did 222mph at Brunters.....

thats just STUPID fast. One of the only cars out there that makes yours look silly and no NOS needed on the Porsche either!

Just driven my old 911 Turbo to Nurburgring and back this weekend. Was perfect all weekend...

did 30.1mpg over whole trip and is a near 200mph car! did Datron timed 180mph with Maria driving at Brunters!

and is now.... FOR SALE!

Great alrounder. Grunty, classy and alot of fun. Drives sooo much better on the newly refurbed std wheels as well.

996 Turbos are Bargains now.

And that before you get on to the American tuned cars that are doing 230+ in the standing mile. I know someone over here that now has around 800 bhp out of his car with bolt on mods.

@jon_ross - WTF? Not necessary dude - Porkie has been part of this community a good deal longer than yourself I would bet, and knows about as much about tuning the YB as most! - Your comments make you sound like a tool!

LOL Considering the knowledge Porkie does have on cars, he's also owned car that we can only dream of owning. So in all fairness, you haven't got anything to compare too and are just talking pure shite!
