Default problem with orange

had my contract with orange for about 4-5 years same number etc

not so long ago i upgraded to an iphone 3gs

im a bit clumsy with phone so i always take out the orange car insurance in thic case with the iphone i pay £12 a month on top of a £45 a month contract but my normaly monthly bill is about £90-£120

anyway cut a long story short

i phoned orange on wednesday as i had broken the screen on my iphone all was fine £15 admin fee and my new phone (recond i might add) was recieved on thursday yesterday

upon recieving my new phone i discovered it was faulty the screen is completely out of sync if i touch 1 part another part is selected

upon phoning orange they said they only deal with damaged phones and faulty phones have to be delt with by apple

i have 3 options

1) travel 70 miles to my nearest apple store

2)apple will post me a jiffy bag and will send me another recond phone in 7 -10 working days

3) pay a £130 deposit plus then pay a priority delivery charge for a courier to bring me a new phone and if my phone is faulty which i know it is will they return my deposit, upon asking how long it would take to get my deposit back i was told 28 days

i am sooo pissed off

rant over

chris

Never had a problem regards Orange and faulty or damaged phones

Burt then I don't have an iphone and my contract is a business one

I looked into an iphone a while ago and my phone insurance has always free with a contract renewal and when they wanted £12 insurance a month I told em to stuff it

Btw they have supplied an item that is not fit for purpose and so are in breach of their contract

Oranges problem not your imo mate

You had a gimp on the end of the phone.

Ring them back and speak to some one else. If they tell you the same thing, explain to them that it was with Orange that you entered into a contract of sale and with them that you entered into a care package that ensures to replace your phone like for like. Tell them that the phone they have supplied is not fit for purpose and that as your contract of sale is with them, and they have supplied goods which are not fit for purpose, then they should be rectifying the issue.
