Default Wh onkows about Audis

Right guys, just testing the water. Seen a 53 plate A4 TDi for sale.
Looks great RS bodykit 19" alloys, remapped to 180bhp ( apparently ) etc etc. in white. BUT..............................

done 133k and is still just a shade under £7k.

if anyone can offer advice please reply or PM and let me know. Might be able to send pic or link.

Cheers Dojj,

And glad someone managed to work out the gobbledigook title I didn't realise I'd mis spelt.

Having seen a couple of other cars on here ( inc the 2 Focus Mk1 RS's ) I'm not so sure it's a good deal with those miles

Edit oops Dan.? as in FF Dan.?

It amazes me with the advances in engines the last 10 or so years, why everyone still have such a big issue with mileage.

100k is relativly nothing these days, infact on a diesel its barely just run in.

As long the the car has a good service history and has been looked after, and there is nothing obviously wrong then the sort of mileage your looking at here should not be an issue.

Ive seen many cars with half that mileage in much worse condition than one with say 150k on the clock.

The VAG 1.9 pd and the newer 2.0 are probably one of the best diesel engines in their class. Apart from basic wear and tear items they are pretty bullet proof.

Audis do command a slight premium, you are paying for the badge and a bit of bling on what is fundamentally a VW golf diesel.

Im selling my wifes TT at the moment this is also 2003 car, it was hard to judge a true price. As they seem to vary so much, but £7k seems about right.

I have just bought a 2004 a4 avant 130 tdi, its standard for the time being and it goes really well, will be looking into re-mapping in the future. they are great cars but do command a premium over golf/passats and mine is poverty spec in terms of equipment, less to go wrong tho i suppose.

If it has the 2.0 BKD engine in it and it has had a remap the turbo's life will be shortened. When it goes it can take the engine with it if your unlucky.

Also watch out for the cylinder heads going porus. If anybody ever needs a head or a turbo for one of these or any VAG I can normally lay my hands on one at a good price
