I have a fiesta with a 350bhp zetec turbo in it what would be best box to use. I have a bc box at mo with quaife atb diff but it keeps stripping gears.
Would a mtx 75 box fit in a mark 2 or not as quite a big box or can someone recommend or have a good gear kit for my box ?

may need inner wing mods for mtx75 as you do on a escort, custom shafts suitable linkage

crazycage has a focus rs box in his mk3, he seems well clued up on these and maybe good for advise

best thing i ever did was fit the focus rs box , i have been running well over 350hp for the last 18 month with no prob's. been up the strip over 50 times and used every day !! cant fault it.

Im in the ame boat as you King, I have spoken to mr cage and project in great depth about this, the way I will be going about it is using my cts to bed the engine in and attempt some strip times, then get the standard moneo mtx installed with all the linkage/drive shafts. But in the mean time trawl the breakers market, fleabay, anywhere really for a half decent rs box. At least this way im never without a box and once the rs box is sourced its a case of simply unbolt the standard box and replace with the rs.

My advise to you is that if you see a box for sub 500, BUY IT!!!!! No matter how skint you are, borrow if you have to or sell a kidney.

But you will bebehind me in the que.lol

I think the getrag bog is an alround strongfer box as well so I believe after talking to a few people, I know simon from sitech has had his installed for 3 years plus and used for trackdays, sprints etc running 400+bhp and never missed a beat

Ratios are not the greatest though for a high power turbo car.

I would go for the Focus Rs box if I was to start from scratch, you get the Ł600 quaife diff for free then too!

Plenty of people on here have broken them with less than 350bhp.

I'm also tempted by the 6 speed option as I love close gears and doing 4k at 80mph with my 5 speed box is just stupid, needs an economy gear! lol

WHen I spoke to CTS they said the stage 2+ box was good for 250 ftlb which would not be practical fo my build, im now going mtx/foc rs but will use my brand new cts stage 2+ as a running in box then see how long it actully lasts with zvh power.
