I think the lift pump on my mondeo has gone and i priced it from ford

£650 for the pump



Priced off ebay for a genuine bosch one £120

How can they mark a pump up that much The one from ford is probabloy a bosch pump anyway is it not?

Also another question if anyone can help, ford say the pipe needs changed too, do i actually need to change the pipe too?

if fuel can get through no problem then its fine. the main dealer just want your cash.

it hasn't been to the dealer and won't be going there the rac guy who came out was ex ford mechanic and reckons that's what's wrong with it so fingers crossed cause if it's the injector pump it's going to be expensive

I don't have time to even look at it so it's going to local mechanic I use quite a bit to determin the problem before I order anything

just couldn't believe how much ford have added to the price Ffs

just get second hand parts, I swear by them, they come with 1 month warranty, 10th the price of new, so it can go wrong 9 times and your still in pocket.

When I worked for fmc the discount was incredible,had a transit turbo which was £849 to the public for £530 and they were still making on that so if you know a ford employee it's worth getting them in on expensive stuff as the savings are immense.watch the bastards though as you usually need to wait up to 5 days if it's vor stuff to get the full discount and they encourage you to get it next day which you only get about 10% off then which is wank,obviously u get full discount on stock stuff,oils filters etc.if you live in Swansea DONT go to garngoch days as the guy with glasses there fiddles the discount and you get ripped off basically.he's a really unhelpful guy as well who won't look on the system for fuck all,plasmarl is much better.

I know the parts guy quite well and he gives me some discount but it's not as much as that, but I think I'll be going fir the Bosch pump on this one as it's a 6th of the price

Yeah,I would too but handy for the future.bit of a longshot but as you live in n.I then you may have contact with people who used to work for ford,as they had a few plants there,they get the discount too.

fords parts prices have shot up. I think its has got something to do with ford trying to get out of debt.
