Default Lexmark refills

Does anyone refill thier own cartridges for the printers ?, do they work ok being filled ?, I tried that on me old HP and it was a no no, even pattern cartridges would not work.
Any input appreciated, as going through the ink somewhat, still a lot cheaper to run than the HP though!!
It's a lexmark prospect pro205, ds(double sided printing) one if that makes a difference, thanks

I used to work for Canon's help desk and using non Canon ink would void the warranty and break the machine as apparently the pattern ink is thicker than Canon's and blocked the print heads (Which most customers called about). I personally would only run genuine inks.

When I had the HP everyone said use pattern, as the ink was so bloody expensive, around 3-4 times the price of Lexy, so tried some patterns, never did work well, most wouldn't work at all, but genuine were always good, thought it was good quality until I got the lexmark, but that's defo better, like the double sided printing as well.
Think at least for now will stick with genuine, as good price, needed a bank loan to buy new hp ones!!

As much as I'm all for using genuine inks, that does sound like a tall story that Canon are telling their staff in their training programme. If non-OEM inks were too thick and causing problems, I'm sure the non-OEM manufacturer would simply change the spec.

That said, I think refilling cartridges is a bit pikey.

laser jet FTW

if its one thing I hate its people at working asking me to buy in inkjets.. they are horrible things

saying that, we have used both genuine and compatibles without any fuss on HP's and Lexmark's

Wouldn't surprise me if it was a load of crap but I wouldn't wanna risk my £200 printer to save a few ££'s. If it was under £100 I wouldn't be so bothered if I used a lot of ink.
