ive got a problem with my wasted spark cossi

its not firing on cylinder 1 and 4 ,

ive swapped the amps over so there fine.

if i disconnect a certain one the car keeps running on 3 and 2,

ive checked plugs leads and injectors, they all seem fine.

I would say it's either a coil pack gone faulty or you're not getting the switched earth from the ECU to one side of the coil pack.

Check this by disconnecting the plug and using an LED type circuit tester, put the clip end of the tester to the positive on the battery and the probe to either the outer terminals of the plug. You should have the LED flashing. If there's no flash on one of them, you either have a ECU or wiring issue.

If they're flashing as they should, I would say it's a coil issue.

If you have a spark present, is there fuel getting to the cylinders?

I'm not 100% sure but aren't the injectors batch fired? If so, 1&4 will fire at the same time. Could possibly be a phase sensor issue perhaps?

Hmm........... Weird. I would have thought if it's a lambda issue it would be doing it on 2&3 as well.

99% certain its the ignition amp Ben. Had same problem and changed everything only to find it was ign amp.

I'm guessing its sparks all 4 on cranking, but drops to 2 when running ? ?

Yeah thats what mine was doing

2 new amps fitted and its spot on now

From Stu's email:
Hi Rich,
The only items that are cylinder specific are the amplifiers, sub loom and ECU.

Best Regards,
Stewart Sanderson

I'd swapped ECU and fully line checked the loom, so amps were only other possibility
