run around car?
hi guys!
i am after a run around for me to go back and forth to work, and have about 5grand to get one. i was thinking either a megane 1.5 dci or the fiesta 1.4 tdci? as both are only 3oquid a year tax and cheap to run? anybody had any first hand info? much appreciated!!

The C2 1.4td does 70mpg real world - same engine as the fiesta to my knowledge, not sure what the fiesta manages though as presume it's different ancilliaries/weight/gearing/calibration?

avoid the renault at all costs. Problem after problem. My old boy has a fusion 1.4 tdci and gets 60 mpg quite often. Peugoet engine in these. And 1.6 also i think

Five grand for a run around?your on too much money fella!!but seriously,avoid anything French,the fiesta does use a pug lump but feels a much more robust car than the poxy Clio etc.anything jap/ german will be a safe bet and I wouldn't rule out a petrol either as some do stupid mpg.golf tdi would b my bet or even a bora,bit bigger but great mpg and bombproof motor.
