As above, get rid of the stress and you get rid of the insomnia if it's something you've just started experiencing.

Sometimes I'm in the kitchen, it's black it's lonely and I think "If only I could get some sleep".

Never much in the refrigerator either at those times....

I get this quite often. Have been for the past 6 or seven years.

On a good night, I'll get around 4 hours kip, but quite often I'll stay awake around the clock. Doesn't seem to make a difference whether I'm tired or not as to how well I sleep.

Bloody typical though when I turn up to my sign on point in my van to start work, I'm falling asleep!!!!

I got told, never lie on your bed/in it. Until you feel you are ready to go to sleep.

Start doing exercise as well as keeping your mind active, (read/write/draw/build something) you will eventually wear yourself out.

The first time you manage to get to sleep, get up earlier than usual the next day. ie half six or seven.

Dont know why, if i let my sleeping patterns change too much, i'm wake all through the night and half asleep through the day

as above. Dont do anything in the bedroom (alone that is) that doesnt involve sleep. associate your bed with just sleep. Don't watch tv, or read, or eat etc. just sleep.

Regular excercise helps loads.

I suffer from bad anxiety and have panic attacks daily. I have found that they are not as bad if i have slept well. So I was told to do the thing above and it helps no end.

Another good thing to do with sleep dep is often caused by thinking and worrying about things. Have a pen and pad near your bed, before you get into bed, write down all the things that are bothering you and name the list "deal with 2moro". When you wake up and read the list you'll usualy find the things written down are laughable, just a night time when your tired/drained things seem 10 times worse.

I shall have a look.

The ammount of reading and help i have had with trying to deal with them on a day to day basis i could probably write a book on it now!

still doesnt stop them from happening which is the annoying part.

Try this, everytime you feel one coming on.

Breathe in through your nose for one second quickly then pause then breathe in again through your nose all the way down to the bottom of your lungs then as soon as it feels full push it straight out and then enjoy the silence then repeat.

Eventually the silence at the end when your not breathing will last longer and you will be able to get to deep levels of relaxation quickly in times of stress. if you want any more info from a fellow suviver let me know lol

It's a Yogi breathing technique does wonders before interviews train trips etc etc

good for PA's too, I got given ciprilex escitalipram for mine had it got rid of them.

20mg a day from 5mg up gradually no side effects either
