Default anyone else having gearbox issues with the cold?

as above really i'v been having problems with getting into 1st and 2nd when the box is cold after driving for a few miles it gets better but it's becoming a pain in the arse, so is it just my box or are other people suffering with it too?

gear oil doesnt like really low temp, this makes gear changes harder until it warms up

makes me feel a little better that i'm not the only one cheers lads thought it was gearbox change time, it more or less won't go into 1st or 2nd when it's cold i'm as gentle as possible and even double clutch but it's still stiff as frozen shite, just changed the oil and it's actually got worse since but it's also got colder, might try and change it for something a little thinner till the weather picks up.

and rupert i bet my box is as stiff atm it's a joke, and i don't even have the advantage of low range and grippy tyres

not good, i'm not having much fun too my car is a state cos i can't wash it on the drive and all the jet washes are frozen up and even struggling to use the air pumps cos they are also frozen up , i do have a compressor but it's too cold to be pissing about with it.

that and the fact all my door and boot seals are knackered now.

No problems in either my 406 or 306 gti, BUT i jumped into my lasses 2.0 ghia focus today to put some fuel in and that was as stiff as a stiff thing for the first few minutes (same MTX75 gearbox as your Mondeo as well im sure)

Nowt to worry about, its just the bad weather - take it easy and it'll be fine when it warms up.

yea it's on my mondy and it's the MTX75, such a pain cos i have to go through the gears no matter where i go, be nice when it loosens up with the good weather

Could be the dmf on it's way out, one of the first signs of clutch on it's way out is getting stuck in gears, that's assuming it's a mk3 or newer.

worst morning we had about -38 celsius and the sierras box was pretty sticky
and whiny. After 15 miles of driving worked fine. Local ford dealer said me that if your mondys 2nd gear is sticky use a ATF in box. Neve tried but often heard
