something seems not right with it mate, probably a scam so i wouldnt take cash to meet anyone. I dont know if its becaue of the wheels that are on it but it looks like a rep to me
i enquired about a white 1 on gumtree a few months back for 6k and it turned out to be a scam the guy was advertising pics of someone else's car, i knew the escos that he sent me pics of and thats how i caught him out. So be very careful

Check everything! Remember this was THE most stolen/crashed car of its time, and I would take a few mates along when you go to look at it.
Just incase...
deffinatley looking at it it just dont have that look of aggression a real escos has at the front and the kit down the side dont look right either for some reason probs a chopped up escos write off had the id welded in and the log book and a old retired saph yb block in a 1.3 mk5 lol
especially for that price if it was real he would still fetch more for sure??
and the story of his brother dying you just wouldnt write that in an ad surely

that really doesn't look a like a proper cossie.. just the way the wheels sit under those arches I'd suspect it's a rep....or some sort of scam... be very carefull dont take any money with you... also have a mate go with you also..
I may be wrong, but does anyone else think the wheels aren't what he says they are?
At first glance I thought they were wrong, but the more I look I'm not so sure 'cos it's a shite photo and too small. But he says quite clearly that they're OZ Superturismos like he knows what he's talking about, but Super T's have a flush-fitting centre cap IIRC and on there it looks to sit proud, like some cheap Fox wheels or something, and also the spokes look too flat. They appear to only curve very slightly, whereas Super T's have quite a curve on them. May be because they're smaller, but I dunno.

hmmmmmmm ..
looks like a rep to me , the front bumper is all blue and looks fibreglass ( normally splitter and hockey sticks are black and they look one piece not seperate section )
think id ask for the reg plate and do a data check , after all he says its in his name , so phone dvla and ask if its in his name etc ..
defo leave the money in a secure place and take a m8 with you .. and if it only 5 mins up the road go to the point on the gumtree map and have a nosey about

good find but i wouldn have posted till i had the car as for all you know someone has read this thread not posted an left to offer more money for it which is a possibility as money talks
Nah, that's the Petrol Blue one ain't it?
Says the wheels are the wrong offset and has a fibreglass bumper fitted, thats why it looks like a rep imo. fingers crossed it turns out ok for you elvis, you might well get a bargain

It was a WOMEN whose son 'allegedly' stole the car for a start
