Default Any hints/ tips

Just been out to fill the sapph up and I cant open the fuel cap its stuck solid key twisted(metal shaft bit) so any tips before I drill the lock out

the annoying thing is the lock/ cap is only about 1year old

You sprayed any wd40 down the hole? The cap on my rst goes solid when i've left the car for a while, couple of times i've had to spray loads down the keyhole and use pliers on the keyshaft to open it.

yup, some of the old dw40 into the lock
and seeing as it's flamable, it's not going to do much harm if it mixes with the petrol either

wd 40 then grease on the key, work it in to the lock then twist the key left to right , might take a few mins but works everytime.

I can sympathise with this.... mine does it every now and again. You learn to recognise the symptoms and get the WD40 in before it happens again...

yeh thank fook mine is too. If our flaps ever stick there is always that little bit of rope to pull inside the boot. Matt i hope you sorted it.

try using your spare key too as the keys wear mate plus as above wd40

what you need to do is fit a later filler cap, with the internal relaese and the boot pull as well
you can then use the internal filler realease if the cable don't work, or you can just fit it and not put the cable in so you can only get to the filler via the boot
