Default vectra gsi 3.2

anybody have one of these or driven one on a regular basis? im after a family size car after xmas and initially was going to go down the 1.9 cdti route but tbh, running cost isnt a major issue im just after something fairly new with no reliability issues. did consider an st220 but tbh for my budget they only seem to be really high mileage etc

go for it - i have an ex police astra 1.7 CDTI and it was lo mileage and one owner from new.

done plenty of miles in it and have only had to deal with a broken inner cv joint and regular servicing.

My mates dad's got a 3.2 v6 elite auto. Very quick car, Very good for motorway top speeds but shocking on fuel and i MEAN SHOCKING if you give it some. Very fun car and handles well for a big car. suppose they would be good with an lpg conversion

well i have a 60 mile round trip for work, and around 55 of that is on the m3 so would be mostly on motorway any.

this is the car, i have emailed with a view to going to have a look, would be ideal for the motorway lol

do plenty of checks when u go and look at it. if its ex police it will have been serviced well and anything that has broken will have been replaced. but the car will have been smashed over speed bumps, mounted curbs, ragged about all day maybe even crashed so i would check all the mounts and bushes and joints etc.

as m4tt274said i reckon

just do plenty of checks but anything that needed servising will have been done, and used vauxhall parts so it should be all good

Agreed have seen some of these ex cop cars and some of them are as rough as a badgers arse underneath,i personally would be wary of an ex dibble motor.

I have the 3.2 gsi and it is pretty good value compared to the ST220.

On the motorway I can get 38mpg, but my overall average is about 25mpg with the way that I drive it.

Will these come into the high tax bracket like the st220 might be.

Had one for a long weekend once, was good fun. Fast, but the ride was quite harsh.

No, they are Ł210 a year due to emissions.
