Euan's car was fairly quick, although obviously nowhere near the standards top speed wise of engines from english tuners like MAD or SCS
AndyG and Charlie Shaw do very well on track, they really do prove that the english can build a good YB

I didnt really see him as embarassing anyone TBH mate no, and his car wasnt exactly a budget build, lots of money spent on it, and running the same management as YUM and MadRod do for that matter too, I know cause its now on my nova after I bought it off him, lol

Not getting involved in the Scot vs English thing, don't give a damn either way, and creating more posts about it doesn't solve the problem. That's why I locked the last post I made that went tits up, and a mod binned your last post, and in due course this one too.
Who gives a flying fook, more important things in life to get stressed over.

You quote Euans car so my answer is about his chosen discipline Topspeed & how it compares to big budget cars.
His 188 mph was reached in 37 seconds compare that with Daves who reached 190 in 27 secs or indeed Andrews 196 reached in 26secs. Martin has hit 200 in 35secs & mine in 25.
Euans was a great effort on his budget & a consistent performer who i had great respect for because he put it on the line, but not fast in real terms or even close sorry but you must use facts not guess work.
You can see where the money goes getting from 188 in 37 to 200 in 25.
I trust only facts will be used in your answer.

In terms of how it feels in the car as well, 200 in 25 seconds is utterly night and day different to 188mph in 37 seconds, thats like comparing a standard mk6 escort with an escort cosworth in terms of the difference in how it pins you back in your seat!
In the real world though, I bet it was a scarey fast car

tomo - i acutally apologised to you on the other thread so please stop getting your kinckers in a twist. Fact of the matter is there is a select group of people who happen to come from Scotland having a pop at Dave. If you werent involved in the discussion why are you so bothered![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
And as one scot said on here - "can he be excluded from the scottish cunts group"
i rest my case
stop dribbling and enjoy PF. It is after all an amsuing place to be with very interersting people and topics ![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
Now back on track - Euans cosworth was or still is a very fast car and its one car i never got a ride in unfortunately.

Its the same as the difference between a 15 second quarter and a 10 second one in terms of average acceleration!

And it was me that asked if we were all getting tarred with the same brush, but that was when everyone was having a dig at daves car. Now this thread seems to be a Scottish/English thing, I thought I'd add my bit for my side!
Were all having a laugh anyway it's not as if were serious Christ..............

Well if you care about top speed then acceleration is pretty important, so in that context I should think everyone into that particular field of competition cares about it a great deal TBH mate!

But i don't care about top speed.
It's kinda obvious a car with a shorter time is faster.
I just felt its a bit harsh to say "not fast in real terms or even close sorry",
My opinion.

I think with top speed, a lot of the time people just dont appreciate the difference that 15mph actually represents, but they tend to be more aware of the difference 5 seconds on the quarter makes, if that makes sense?
Rod isnt having a go, like he said he has a lot of respect for what rapidcossie did achieve, but the two cars really are a massive difference apart, just like a 15 second and a 10 second car on the quarter are.

Rod is doing both, he is giving euan credit for what he achieved, but putting it into context of how far away that still is from some of the other cars, simply because the thread starter doesnt seem to be aware of how big the gap is, so Rod is trying to help him see the differences.
I have seen threads on here where people have mentioned rod's car alongside the likes of the porche fff, and rod has used similar terminology to say how night and day different it is to his own car, and how his isnt even close.
Its something he has a big interest in, so if someone expresses an interest too, he is happy to spend the time talking to people about how cars compare etc, much like someone into quarter miles or laptimes at combe might do, I cant see why he seems to get such a hard time for doing so, he is only trying to educate people about a discipline he finds fascinating at the end of the day!

I understand that.
All i said was that IMO 188mph is fast in a Saph, and that i bet most people wouldn't care if it took a few seconds longer to get there....
Unless an opinon poll proves me wrong, i stand by that.
I think most would be thrilled to have a car capable of those speeds on a small runway. That's all.
