mate
you are talking pure bollox. the cars done 194mph ffs, lol shouldnt buy it unless it lasts on a rolling road, are you on crack ?, dave bought the orignal engine of me without it even being fired up. its called trust, and if you know mark shead as close as i do, he will never walk away from a problem.

Hasnt this engine had a rebuild since the 194 run? Head gasket was it?
I still stand by my opinion that if its been booked onto the RR day it should be there. If it was my car i would definitely want to see the final figure before the car was stripped cos you'll never get the chance again.
Daves had posts up saying how fast the car is on the road so surely the box'll last a couple runs on the RR.

Am i reading it right that you are selling the engine for 20 fucking k?
Is there someone really daft enough to spend £20,000 grand on just a engine?
I know you say it couldn't be built for that, but come on, 20k!

or some people would pay £200,000 for a glove that Micheal peado jackson wore....
or £20k for one night in a hotel....
People spend their money on what they want!

If its thought that the only issue with running it on the rollers is going to be the box then I would run it, the run would only use one gear and would be loaded up just before it starts so I cant see a problem.
I know that if it was me I would be pissed in the future that I didn't have a crack at the double ton but I understand Daves reasoning.
Detune it to GT30 spec and just enjoy, I would rather have that than a MK2 Focus RS and yes I have tried one!

And you need to be aware of the cost of these things, bear in mind that the manifolds alone will set you back 6k+ for example
To anyone seriously interested in the engine, that figures isnt going to be a big surprise.

just dont go too sensible! i broke the xr2 up for 16.5k and bought an E46 M3 and only had to spend £250 on it in the 10 months i owned it, but it lost 4k when i sold it and never got used apart from to go to the shops lol
all the best

I've never even seen YUM run, but I have seen it in the flesh, and yes, I can understand the value in it from having seen it.
Didn't a certain Mr. Gallagher not spend £25k on the 800bhp engine for the flying focus.!?!? So YUM at over 700 isn't actually that far behind.
Always have a respect for people who can, and have the ability to, plough this much money into a car, and have to admire Dave's decision not to jeopardise the car, or himself trying to the the big 200. 194 would be close enough for most of us........well me anyway.
The one thing I always wonder when reading abou thi spec cars on here, or even in the mags is ''how much did all that cost''......just interests and amazes me.

Yes we got rid of turkish block, also had new pistons for high comp
Also had solid lifters installed, so this is a better engine and the last one and should easy get to the 194 it did last time we have gain a extra 80 bhp over the last spec on pump fuel, also went over to 8 injectors and a couple more pumps

I couldnt remember exactly what happened or if i was mixing Rods HG problems up with your engine. Good bit better spec then. I'd still want one last dyno run for "old times sake".

Is it just me or when you add daves list up for the engine, it doesn't quite come to near 20k!
Before all the hillbillies jump on yes I know it would cost more to build new blah blah.....

You,ve got me there you tart...
Seriously, i,ve NEVER spent on all my cars what Dave has on this Neil, hence why i say DE-TUNE it, it,d still be a storming Escort then with all the parts etc on it...

Cause I read it as those being what he is selling them for if it goes in parts, as they certainly werent new prices.
I suspect the 20K was plucked from the air rather than worked out though, if you add all those prices up you will get a real total of 17K, excluding all the intercooler and oil cooler and radiator etc

Tim, Autronic is £1500 from memory when i had mine Plus VAT, turbo would be surely heading towards £1500 or more, there,s 3k without going anywhere into the engine parts really, soon adds up...SCARY.........
