If it hadn't completely cleared and they ring their bank to cancel it then....thats why its been returned to them!

can't believe they have done it tho...unless initially it was sent back to you and they actually didn't have the full amount in the account then the bank would have refused it...which can happen after the transaction "appears" to be complete!

i'd get straight on to them and ask them what the fuck they are playing at! Have you asked your bank about it and explained the situation...? They may be able to do something about it...even if its increasing your overdraft limit until the money goes back in again....

just spoke to my bank, and chadderton salvage have actually taken the money back out of my account, i have disputed it but it could take up to 31 days apparently.

can i call the police as it is theft?

Just read this thread. That was good of Big G to sort things out, but looks like they're taking the piss again and have left you in the shit with your direct debits this month. As above, surely they are committing a crime by using your card details without your say so? Hope this gets sorted, I hate seeing places operate like this.

Its up to the bank to prove you authorised that 2nd payment, I think legislation has recently been changed to make it this way. Complain to your bank and then sit tight, you should see your money back with any luck

They withdrew money from somebody's bank account without permission to do so = theft .
If they hadn't put the funds back in it would be a different story .

i will be going to the police station tonight once i have finished work,

rung the company yesterday asking why they have withdrawn money from my account, he's reply was that they are having trouble with streamline, a friend of a friend works their and done some rummaging for me and informed me that they withdrew their account with chadderton salvage last month.

the bank is disputing the payment but can take anything up to 7 weeks, i dont quite think my bank understood me that withdrew from my account without my permission.

have stopped my bank card aswell not that i can use it
