what makes me laugh is they moan about pay but they can aford to strike? i lost my job in march, with bonuses i was on 40k a year, im now earning 15k a year just to cover my familys bills as i didnt want to sign on, i would be happy to earn 17k at the min, they should think themselves lucky they have a job, theres going to be a lot of familys out there a LOT worse off than them. i makes my blood boil, if i had my way i would sack the fucking lot of them and give there jobs to people who want to go and earn a honest living

cutting corners isn't a good example, i would tell him to f off but i like having my mail delivered and do not want it going walkies.
i have complained in the past and even went into chester head office and complained, fat lot of good it did. We seem to get a new postie every year and they are all the same, cut across me flipping garden.
i also think using a l reg astra to deliver the mail and humpin your mail out the boot isn't a good example for buisness.
didn't use to be like that, which corporate divvy thought that was a good idea ???

ours is always wearing ear phones with music blaring,i would call that a hazard meself.
in the old days i used to race the postie on my bmx while they smoked a rolly delivering the post, surely the RM should make them get on their bikes instead of the car.
think of the carbon footprint ? using a clapped out old banger isn't very enviromentally friendly.funny how you never see a twatted around royal mail pusher yet them sherpas and escorts and now trannys and combos look like they have been blown up by the taliban.

you should see our bikes, they are shot and we cant seem to get them repaired(budget issues)
my guess is there may not be any bag drops so he has no where safe to store them. and the maximum bag weight is 16kg for the first 2 or 3 bags then the weight drops a couple of kg for every bag after that(due to fatigue)
so he cant carry them all with him,due to health and safety

steve your gonna have me crying in my beer in a mo ,lets face it the jobs fooked and us customers of the royal mail are watching with interest waiting for the shit to fly.
its going to be good on the news tonight what with question time and the BNP giving it some and Postman Pat striking.
i'll know its a proper strike when the oil drum is burning outside our main depot.

im just trying to make people realise that there are some serious issues
not that we just want a day off and more money
i dont want to/cant afford to strike but we either strike and put royal mail at risk or sit back and let royal mail management destroy the company and sell it off cheap to companys like TNT that they all have shares in

what does striking achieve? nothing nowadays as it isnt a closed shop anymore. theres plenty viable alternatives and the loss of business will kill the po.
whos going to use the po when they cant guarantee uninterrupted business?

i can't see today not tommorow delivering a letter for 24p second class.
thats the rm's problem, they are too cheep and don't make enough.
plus i still get letters with unfranked stamps,i steam them off and re use them.
i never knew it was a crime to do that, bit like leaving red fookin rubber bands on my drive or worse me fookin garden

I'm here!
The distribution side was on strike today, we're on strike tomorrow..............
As daft as it may sound, I don't fully understand why we're going o strike! I'm in the union and they say we are, so I am. But only tomorrow for me, from then on i'm gonna be a scab and work 'cos i can't afford not to be earning!
If anyone's genuinely interested in the reasons why then check out the CWU website, wich I'll be doing myself!!

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
As mal has stated, i also get the impression from the people i know that work for the RM haven't really got a full understanding of why they are striking, just that the union says so!!!

Im of the opinion that the union is pissing in the wind trying to prevent a modernisation that the royal mail NEEDS to stay anything like affordable to run.
I think they need to accept that their old cushy jobs dont exist anymore and just be greatful they have a job at all in the current climate.

hey. thought i'd leave my opinion, i've been a postman for 5 years now, i only work in a small office so i'll tell u about us, when i started there, people would rush around and get done early, then the managers started noticing this so when a chap retired, his 40 hour weekly contract round was split up and put onto everybody else, so now everybody has an extra 30 mins delivery to do, sice then a further 2 rounds been put onto us so in the 5 years i've been there we've gained an extra 60-70 minutes extra delivery. Also after we've spent hours getting our own rounds ready, we have to get 2 rounds ready for delivery b4 the guys come in and deliver it. So this is why people are getting there post later and later, oh and do remember that not all of the postmen are bad, most of us will try to get everything to you as early as possible and with the best service, i've seen 7 managers in my time there so far, and the last was the one 2 make all the changes and he pocketed Ł7000 bonus for it. as for the Ł17k a year, ur part time chap gets more than that. most of us get Ł20k+, oh and royal mail aim to make Ł600m profit each year, greedy shareholders!!! not meant 2 tell u all that but i'm leaving in a few weeks so i dont worry. i'm not striking as its not gonna change anything, the company will still change the way of working and save money where they can, so the top bosses can get there multi million pound salerys. Anyway thats my input

To be THAT ignorant when so many people are struggling and its out of there control is totally selfish.

Winter of discontent????
posties, firemen, what next the bins?? council workers?? gritters??
Strikes are infectious.
Good way to fuck up britains slow recovery from recession even more. Well done!!
I dont get where the sheer hatred and aggression towards picket line breakers comes from!! Any other situation and it would be immediate dismissal for that kind of abusive behaviour!!
Theres whole communities who dont talk to each other still because of the coal strikes
how fucking pathetic is that??
people need to get a fucking grip!!
I personally cant see anything beneficial for the country in having unions in the way we do in this country. they only seem to make things worse.
Nylon fish line threaded all over the grass will stop them dead mate. If they whinge say you put it to stop cats. Garuntee you after your posties fell on his face a couple of times he will get the message.
