Not car related.
On the 22nd of last month i ordered a camera from 7dayshop.com, on the P&P page it states all import charges/duty is payed for by them you will not have anything to pay on delivery. Had a delivery note from royal mail through this morning stating they could not deliver as there's a fee to pay so they've left it at my local sorting/parcel depot
I've just been back to their website and the postage details have been amended and it now states that from 30/07/2004 there may be duty to pay if you live outside of guernsey (where their based) when i checked my account it seems they posted a further item that only cost £12 before this came into place and the camera itself was sent on the 30th
Can i do anything about this? i've sent them an email asking why i have to pay the charge when i ordered before the rules changed and i'm waiting response. Anybody got any advice ?
Cheers

If item is imported then you are liable for VAT, two ways of collecting it, via poat office or invoice from courier, I have imported two items and had to pay VAT, check if this is what you have to pay, maybe its an " insurance " surcharge which was hidden in the small print.
