I've got a bag of just over 100 titanium NAS bolts and washers to suit that came from an old race car restoration project i helped a friend with.
Part number NAS6404-23
I've got part of the original packaging which suggests they were made around January 2001.
Now out of curiosity i got a price for replacement bolts and was shocked to find that they were over $5 EACH!![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
I don't have any certificates or paperwork for them unfortunately as that stayed with the previous owner for his audit stuff.
Is there any way i can sell these for reasonable money anywhere that anyone knows of? Or is it a case of selling them in small batches on ebay? Or as scrap for £5 a kilo?

Will, they are aircraft grade bolts. The NAS means Navy Airforce Specification.
Have a look on http://www.iso-parts.com/Public/Sear...ord=NAS6404-23
this is a big multi-national military parts website, can find all sorts of goodies and information on there!

Titanium would have been a rolled thread form, thus making the bolt extremely duarable, they will have, if Aero-spec, a larger Root radius with 60 degree thread flank angles (UNJF,MJ threadforms opposed to a Whitworth form which is 55 degree flank angles and a Non-Aeroapace application), which give the bolt a huge advantage over conventional bolts in shear strength.
We actually make the thread rolling dies that make the fasteners (bolts) for the Aerospace industry and in some casses the F1 industry.

NAS bolts are aircraft grade as already said and very expensive due to the very tough standards they have to meet.
we use them loads in Airbus where i work and i think the least expensive bolt is £8's worth- there are also supposed to only be used/torqued up twice before being thrown in the bin aswell lol
I don't know where you could sell them or wot use they may be as most companies assuming most are like Airbus would need batch and manufacturers traceability.

Wow - thanks for all the info guys!
They were off a Formula 1 car restoration project, but as i mentioned - no paperwork![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
So they are worth something - but going to be tricky to sell![tiff](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/punchballs.gif)
Ok - so, £25... going once!
