Scrappage scheme question
Been reading up on this, wodnered if anyone could answer me this:
it states that the car must have a present V5 and be insured, but what if the car has a different engine in it?
For instance, my Orion was an 1.6i EFI CVH originally, now has the same engine, but turbo'd. Have checked on the DVLA website etc, and it says that you need to inform them of any change in engine capacity - can't seen anywhere to declare that it now has a turbo.
I am insured for the turbo, it just doesnt state it on the V5.
Would I still be able to use this against a new car?
Cheers
Keir

As far as the scrappage scheme is concerned as long as the MOT is current and its insured, id dont matter two monkeys what engine is in it.
There is nothing stopping you towing the car there with no engine in. (trust me we've looked at every angle on this). All that happens, the car is collected by a recycling agent on a truck and scrapped (ie breakers yard).
I wouldnt worry about the engine situation tbh
