Depends if your blind or not Rudey...
It's not painful when your having it done, it's more uncomfortable than anything.
The actual laser bit doesn't hurt at all, it's having the contraptions put on your eyeball and of course the gadget that cuts the flap is the worst bit, but I'm not sure if you'd be having that if it was just to remove the scar???

Was watching the news last week and they had something on this subject. Basically the surgeon said its 120% to have this done, or he would not be doing it, but they still have no proof of the long term effect, i.e 10-20 years ahaed.
This is the only reason as to why I have not yet gone for it.

Tabz, you right, altho its been around 20years or so different techniques are alwaqys being developed, Lasik, LASEK, PRK, RK, Wavefront etc.....so no one technique will have a long term study yet (bar PRK and RK), however its one of those things...Im a "live for now" person, i needed good eyes now, so took the plunge and love it....if things change in 20years, then ive head 20years of sweet vision that i have never had in my life before.....everyones eyes change when they hit 40odd anyway (tendancy to go long sighted).
Kev, congrats with the > 20/20 bud! Mine never got that good, i am 20/25 (next line up!).....however my eyes are so much better than before i chffed (i was -14!!!).
I shall have an enhancement in a few years when i leave uni (give my eyes a few years t change if theyre gunna), and then to go from 20/25 to 20/20 is fook all, so should be sweet, need it career wise
