Default Technical question help needed by 10am

Hello all, I know its the wrong section but need opinions and comments by 10am so posted here

Would a set of bike carbs from a 1000cc motorbike that spins at 12000rpm be capable of supplying enough air to a 2000cc car engine at 6000rpm?
Obviously the jets can be changed to allow the fuel flow but would the air flow be restricted by the size of the carb chokes?
This is for a non turbo application, just N\A

Thanks

That would depend on the amount of cash you gotta part with really then you gotta make a manifold up etc might do as well to find a set of webbers or similar

I have a set of throttle bodies from a Suzuki GSXR750 on my 2.0L and it makes @ 7000rpm 180bhp.

I take it you mean throttle bodies and not carbs? as the carbs may not have the correct jets available to supply enough fuel?

They come on a manifold already, not sure if they will work without the bike airbox as some need negative air pressure to work. we tried running open carbs on a GSXR and needed to change to Flatslide Keihns due to that reason

No Carbs, I can't afford throttle bodies as this is a second project after the racing Sapphire Cos

Mind you thinking about it, and its a bit early in the morning for my brain!, your halving the revs but doubling up the cc each carb supplies, so it may work!

That was my logic
If it uses "X" amount of air for a 1000cc motor at 12000rpm
Surely halving the revs but doubling the cc """should""" be about the same volume of airflow.
If these carbs are good for 170-180BHP on a bike they should be able to cope with 160 ish on a car

yeah they will do the job to an extent.

most '45' webbers ETC used on cars have chokes in them down to about 36 or 38mm anyway to keep the air speed i think.

Yes they will work. most people use smaller carbs from zx6 etc so carbs of a 1000cc bike will be ok. you best of speaking to bogg bros, http://www.boggbros.co.uk/ this is what they do for a living.
