We were only talking about this over the weekend (not about YOUR house Jake ) - about how it's funny I've been in my house nearly 2 and a half years now, yet I've done NOTHING to it, yet in that time I've helped about 5 people move/set up (Maria twice ) and helped with painting walls, fitting things like outside lights, modifying stuff, clearing out, etc - but other than a few pictures on the walls in my own house, I've don't fuck all

To be fair, I don't really need to do anything, and nothing major. I like the colour scheme so no point painting. Flooring and carpet is all done. Kitchen and bathroom are under 5yrs old (I'd like to change the cooker but not got the money for that ). The only thing that really could do with some work is the garden, but I don't know what to do in it so thats on hold till I figure it out.

I toy'd with the idea of ripping the bathroom out and moving it all around, so I could ditch the bath and put in a fuck off walk in shower, but a) that's gonna cost mega bucks, b) if I sell I'd need to re-do it to put a bath back in and c) the bath room was only done about a year before I moved in, seems like a bit of a shame to rip it out!

One half of me is glad I haven't had to do it, but the other half kinda wishes I had to, so I could put "my mark" on it, so to speak.

I'm in the middle of helping my friend out with any bits I can, as he's doing pretty much the whole house over, and whilsts it's quite cool and nice to help - I don't fucking envy him and his fiancee living in a building site!

fair play, we looked at a few elder houses then decided to go for a more modern build (late 90's) as they were set out a lot better for us, the house we got didn't really need anything doing,,, but you have to make it 'your' home, we have decorated a few rooms & done quite a bit in the back garden now.

Hard graft but well worthwhile

Im hoping to get into a new project later this year or next year

My previous flat was fully decorated, new carpets, floored attic and i made Ł16.500K in just under 18 months, and that was selling straight to my brother so could have easily made more on the market as within my area at the time i was the only 2 bed flat available........ mental note..... dont be too kind to family, fuck em off and make more money

Where is it in Solihull mate? I've just moved from Hockley Heath to Cornwall. Looks like you're putting quite a bit into it and should make shitloads if you paid Ł40k less than its was worth as it was fairplay

keep at it fella, i did it at mine, 3 months every night and weekend, seemed never ending.

But then all of a sudden it all starts to come together and it suddenly becomes all worth it. Then a year later you look back and it seems like a dream and hard to remember all the work it took.

Don't forget to speak to Chris for your deals on the flooring, will save you a packet.

I just dont want to walk around up stairs and everything vibrate so I stuck a joist up- an over sized joist that is.

Not to disagree either but of all the people I asked (which is quite a lot - baring in mind I am in the construction industry myself) they all said do what I have done then jack the beam up and pack out any gap at the top of the pillars with slate and then point round the slate.

But cheers for the concern, I have it covered.
Nah its fine, it wont go anywhere. My thoughts were that if it is overseen by BC, they will or should want it sat on Padstones thats all!
