Default People who have actually used a hydraulic clutch conversion (Cossie)

Just need some feedback on how much lighter these are. I have a 6 paddle AP in my 4x4 Cossie. I have a left ankle injury - I can't be using a heavy clutch - how much lighter is a hydraulic conversion?

i ve got one in mine.... pretty much the best thing to happen to it apart from the mapping so it runs! not as soft as a mondeo but its fine in traffic..... and it doesn't wear the clutch as much as the std selfadjusting mech if you're using a paddle..... well worth it!

ive never driven a cossie with a cable clutch but my paddle felt slightly heavier but not much in it than a normal clutch running on my bmw hydraulic system.
you could pick up the parts needed from a scrap yard to convert your own for minimum outlay .

This would seem a worthwhile thing for me to do while engine is out so please tell us what bits to scavenge from the scrappy

I have one with a HD cover and ap 6 paddle plate, if anything it feels lighter than my wanked out cable, deffo smoother, people dont fuck about trying to get the parts here and there go to Martin give him your bellhousing and get the job done properly with the back up to follow, you wont buy a better upgrade for you cossie

Id be interested in the salvage parts route as I had thought about doing this as well as i love the feel of the clutch on my Avensis

Albeit I would be purchasing the parts new anyway

Not done me cossie yet, but will be.
Done me dads xr4iv8 that had a rally clutch, seriously mental heavy, but after conversion nearly as light as the accelerator, certainly vastly better control with no cable dryness/stickiness, most of the effort in cable ones must be down to the friction metal on metal creates(inner against outer) rather than clutch effort itself.
I did his one for under £100.
