is now a good time to break a cossie?
i have a totally mint very well spec'd 2wd stg 3 saph with all the right bits on.its worth more in bits than what i would get selling it whole.is now a good time to break it and is there enough demand to make it worthwhile?it sits and does nothing so im probably better breaking it and buying a s2 that i will use more and having some money in the bank for a change.comments from anybody who has broken 1 recently welcome.

As above, alot of hassle posting bits and personally i couldn't be arsed with it so i kept mine in one piece. I did however write down a list of everything i could sell off the car and UNDERVALUE it all slightly as i wanted to give myself a realistic idea of what i'd get as a minimum to see if it was worth the hassle.
Also again if it was me and the engine wasn't "all that" i'd split it aswell, worth more in bits esp. the crank/head no one will pay good money for a complete 2WD engine in need of a rebuild.

i reckon it should make 9kish with all the bits i have, everything is brand new, powdercoated and refurbished,or like new.its been photographed for fast ford so will be featured soon so that gives you an idea how good it is.i doubt anyone would pay that for a 2wd in any condition.its just had an underside resto, its not concours but its as mint underneath as it is on top.scooby slayer, did you get the shell away?

shell made Ł1000 with all panels/bumpers and mint leather interior no suspension/brakes.
all depends whats uprated on your car mate.
if its got bigger brakes, coilovers, loads of chrome and engine extras big wing, loom, wasted spark, uprated diff etc then will make good money quickly.
if the parts are standard there not gonna be worth much tbh.
i only got offered 7k for mine so was a no brainer for me but if theres not much in it then deffo not worth the hassle.

Its got big brakes all round, adjustable rear beam, tcas, alloy tanks, cooler, rad,,good engine, new t34 + loads and loads more so i think it will be less hassle than trying to sell it for good money.

why not return it back to standard'ish? ( if you kept the original parts - obviously not modified bits like the head ) then sell the mod's & then the car if need be.. surely you'd make more that way ?
